If you are in the Traverse City area, and looking for a good breakfast/brunch, why are you waiting up to an hour to be seated in a downtown TC spot? K.I. (formerly The Hideaway) is under new management, and has a new attitude. For about $13 each — $15 including coffee — we ordered the all-you-care-to-eat breakfast buffet, and I included some of my photos here. The breakfast potatoes are well seasoned and do not require ketchup like that of most places. The eggs Benedict was delicious, and the prime rib was tender and quite tasty. You’ll also find scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage & biscuits and more. Don’t fall asleep on K.I Bar & Grill. It’s worth the trip.

I’ve been wanting to eat here since they’ve opened and finally stopped in today. My girlfriend and I were both greeted at the door, had a friendly waitress, and really enjoyed the food and drinks. Good selection of some local beer and cider and the cod fish was very good!

Service super slow with only a few people eating on a sunday. Haven’t seen our waitress in a half hour. Food has taken 45 minutes and it’s still not out. Literally just got chicken and burgers. Nasty bathrooms. lazy work

Not the worst, not the best. The kids burger, is the same size as the adults burger so go ahead and save yourself $6 and order the kids, if you want a burger. The rest of the menu had rather big portion sizes for the plates, I had seen while eating dinner.

Awesome food and atmosphere! This place strikes a perfect balance between modern and warm. I strongly recommend the pineapple margarita. Service was great as well, I will absolutely return!

The service and food was amazing.. I have a service dog and the staff were extremely accommodating to myself and my service dog Rosie!! I am from Florida and will definitely be returning soon!!! I recommend their pulled pork and homeade chips!!

My husband & I have tried out the K&I 2 times now & are really impressed! The food was tasty & came quick. The portions are generous & the prices reasonable. We ordered lunch & the Ruben was amazing! Also the service at the bar was great, the guys were friendly and on top of things. We understand why it’s so busy already, it’s definitely worth a trip.

Great redo!. So much light and the decor is terrific. We were the about 1:00pm on a Thurs. There were several tables and only one waitress trying to serve all the customers. A fella sat at the counter appearing to do paperwork while customers were waiting for the waitress. The customers needed to be the first priority and other work later. We ordered side salads and a cup of soup and it took about 45 minutes to receive our food. Not good customer service and not a good way to make sure you keep a good waitress. The potential is there and we’ll give it another try.

Unfortunately I’ve given this place multiple tries and there seems to be issues with every visit. the other reviews do speak true that the servers are very sweet and the majority of the food is fine, but issues continue to stem from the kitchen.
On 2 separate occasions, we’ve waited what seemed like quite a while for incorrect orders, the most-recent related to an internally raw chicken breast served to customers.
An extra star is warranted for the bartenders and wait staff, but the food is consistently fair with issues and overpriced. The best way to enjoy this place is at the bar with a decent selection of beers and without ordering food. INSIDER TIP: Karaoke on Saturdays is loud and full of country music if you’re into those vibes!

We showed up with a party of 9, there was only a waitress and the bartender working the floor. The waitress was awesome, can’t say enough good things about her. We all enjoyed the food, highly recommend this restaurant.
