Been supporting this restaurant for years, all the way from Taft track. Some days fairly well, but others not some much.
Lately, I’ve been disappointed. BUT yesterday was unacceptable. The HALF RAW catfish made the whole meal inedible, and the sides were awful, cornbread dry, mushy rice and some more. I actually called in to talk to someone and supposed to get a call back to address it, but that never happened. I was even asked to take pictures for evidence . Well… the evidence.

First time checking out Just Cooking at the new location (even though they’ve been here a while), and it’s still the same fire. I ordered the pepper steak with yams and the beans of the day, plus a side of cabbage. They gave me string beans instead, but I figured they were probably out of cabbage since I ordered online—not a problem.
Food was hot, seasoned right, same healthy-sized portions, and cooked with love like always. I ordered online and it was ready real quick. Same taste, same quality. Atmosphere was chill, service was on point. Everything was just very, very, very, very, very good. I’ll definitely be back.

I have gotten the fried pork chops the last couple of times I went here, simply because I was satisfied the 1st time I had them. But that 2nd time? No ma’am. So I figured, it was an off day, let’s try them one more time. They were worse than the last time. I was so disappointed. Over fried, super dry/tough. The cabbage n greens mix was good, but for $20 ?? I don’t think I’ll be back for awhile. I’ve tried the beef ribs and they were tough. The mac n cheese had no flavor. So Idk who’s doing the cooking anymore, but something damn sure is lost. Blessings to them tho. They are good people, and i haven’t tried everything on the menu. So go judge for yourself.

The food was outstanding — fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made by someone who actually cares. Easily the highlight of the visit.
Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The lady handing out orders — wearing a toboggan, glasses, and a lip ring — was rude, impatient, and acted like customers were an inconvenience. No greeting, no courtesy, just attitude.
It’s disappointing when great food is paired with someone who seems completely uninterested in basic customer service. I’d come back for the food, but not for the experience.

My visit to this place was awesome. My favorite thing was all the black memorabilia and recognition. It truly looks like a soul food place it reminded me of some thing I would see in Chicago or Detroit .the portion size WILD it took me three different meals to eat all the meatloaf. The yams were great a little on the sweet side. The macaroni and cheese was definitely homemade. It was great. Everything was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this place to others who are looking for Southern style cooking black homemade cooking. Like your granny made it yeah, this is the place for that. And it was very affordable. You can’t beat that I got everything for under $20 .They have a wide variety of items on their menu. I’ll definitely have to visit again and try the breakfast.

I was referred here to satisfy my sweet tooth that day. I specifically asked was the caked BAKED FROM SCRATCH AND WAS THE BANNANA PUDDING FROM SCRATCH. The answer is a simple yes or no. They lied. I got jello box pudding, and a box cake. I deserve the right to choose to choose whether i want their products after give the truth. Dpnt open restaurants if you are not going to do what it takes to offer the orosuct. Baking from scratch is time consuming so if your not gonna do it then dont offfer deserts. Its simple. I come there all the time I got pork chops dinner plus add a pork chop for my dad it was to spicy that’s the first time that ever happened I was shock it’s so hot we could not eat it please fix this I always talk to Monica tell her good food is this time it was not !

Run! Don’t walk! To Just Cookin’ BBQ The food was excellent, the service was on point My co-worker & I stopped here for lunch, our office is just around the corner and we got our food within 10mins of ordering. Allowing us to take full advantage of our hour long lunch break. I will definitely be back SOON ! The turkey ribs were tender & the lamb chops were delicious Mac & Cheese is like Grannies homemade, took me back. Now I have the itis lol heading back to work ✌

Quick & delicious! The smoked wings were kind of small but super meaty. The pork bbq was amazing & the sauce was incredible. A side of potato salad, also delicious, made the amazing meal complete.
