Juniors in Oklahoma City is more than a steakhouse. It’s a piece of local history. In the 70s and 80s it was the place where oil and gas deals were made, executives gathered, and power lunches and dinners were part of the culture. Famous for its food, its atmosphere, and the iconic tableside Caesar salads prepared by sharply dressed servers, it once set the standard for fine dining in OKC.
We went back a few nights ago with that legacy in mind.
The hostess was incredibly kind and welcoming, and walking in you still feel traces of the old oil-tycoon era. The look and feel is familiar, but unfortunately it’s also showing its age. The dining room is overdue for an update. If Juniors still wants to be considered a high-end Oklahoma City steakhouse, the space needs real attention.
The staff across the board was gracious, helpful, and professional. That part of the experience still shines.
The drink menu, however, was surprising in the wrong way. It reads more like a dive bar than a classic steakhouse, and it doesn’t match the heritage or reputation of what Juniors once was.
For dinner, I ordered the filet. It was well prepared and cooked properly, but it simply wasn’t at the level Juniors used to be known for. Solid, but not special.
Sides were a mixed bag.
– Garlic mashed potatoes were good
– Green beans were excellent and easily the standout side of the night
We did order the famous tableside Caesar. While tasty, it no longer carries the theater or polish that once made this place legendary. It’s still good, but the magic that set Juniors apart feels diminished.
Dessert featured a wide assortment of pies. The Brandy Ice, a longtime Juniors staple, was still enjoyable, though again not quite what memory recalls.
Juniors has an incredible history and a name that still carries weight in this city. But it feels like a restaurant caught between eras.
With the right reset, refreshed space, updated bar program, and a return to the details that once made it iconic, this place could reclaim its former glory. The foundation is still there. It just needs to be revived.

Not only do i work in the oil center, I have been eating at Jr’s regularly for over twenty five years but infrequently enough to feel unrecognized. It always feels special to eat and drink at junior’s and it holds a special place in my heart. A really hard day cannot be better taken care of than by the excellent service, a glass of champagne and a shrimp cocktail at junior’s.
Tonight I had a really bad interaction with some women at the bar and as I tried to remove myself but also frantic to pay my tab i was seen and supported by the staff. the Hostess, that i’ve recognized my whole life, and the owner were genuinely receptive to my experience, took care of me and sent me on my way feeling part of the community i live and work in. Thank you, ladies. Truly

Met friends in the bar. Lots of fun and really buzzing with folks. Then they all lit a cigar at the same time. It went from fun smoky bar to way too smoky of a bar. I’m not a regular so I didnt know.

First time me and my wife visited several months ago. Steak was overcooked and the manager came out and grabbed my wife’s steak with her hands and took it off the plate. Service was horrible. We decided to give it another try for my wife’s birthday with 5 friends. Service was horrible. Not enough waters on table to start. Drink orders were delayed. Ordered shrimp on ice. Shrimp were rubber asked for another serving and they were rubber too. Finally ordered food. Waiter had to keep repeating our orders. Finally got food and the waiter gave everyone’s food to the wrong person. Shrimp scampi and a filet was ordered and the shrimp came out with no scampi. Just four dried and rubber shrimp. Finally finished meal and the charged everyone 18% gratuity. Finally left and will never return!!

Of all the evenings I’ve had at restaurants, Junior’s tops the list!!! We came in with a party of 12 and they never missed a beat. Everyone was fantastic and the food was phenomenal! Laura, Madison, Curtis, and Salem were the best servers ever. We are in town for the Ole Miss vs Oklahoma game and they made our night perfect! Kudos to everyone! The vibe is fantastic.

Very awesome place! Kinda speak easy vibe. Great spot for a date night or anniversary. They have a smoking room for cigars if that’s your thing as well. Food was spectacular and drinks where delicious would highly recommend reservations as space is limited

Worst meal ever 75 dollar steaks tough Caesar salad was the worst I’ve ever had. The waiter was terrible when you’re sitting there paying over $600 a meal and they can’t even give you water. We waited forever for our food and I’m telling you what we used to go there and it was good. This is the worst thing ever.

Escargot is an excellent choice because it feels light on the stomach, making it a perfect starter before the main course.
