I went to June bug just to study and get maybe a coffee when I stumbled upon their menu. The gumbo was amazing and the beignets were not too sweet which I like. They were not skimpy on their portions either and the customer service was great! Would come back.

I found this place on a Google search and it was fat Tuesday, so I needed something other than King cake! This place came up with beignets!!!!! So I called and they just come in and pick them up… So I drove over make a order for a dozen beignets with powdered sugar on the side and starberry topping and Carmel bacon on the side as well as I needed it for a later in the evening party. What a hit!!! Everyone loved them!!! The have to be the BEST I have ever had!!! And the strawberry topping great, powered sugar great, but the Carmel bacon…OMG!!!! THE BEST!!! I wanted to take a picture with all the beignets, but they were taken as soon as I opened the box… All I can say is go and try them… The woman who helped me was amazingly nice as well… Will go back soon… Thank you!!!!!

This place is not big but feels cozy and has nice community vibes. The staff is courteous and friendly.
Tried the gumbo, it’s excellent. Also the brisket ona biscuit with gravy, had no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised, it was delicious. Had to try the beignets, some of the best pastries I’ve had in a very long time.

We purchased a small catering order for a work event, and the food was a hit! We ended up going with a Box o/ Beignets and some orders of the Hand pies, both the meat pies and the red beans and rice (vegetarian). The Beignets were incredible, the Hand pies were very tasty, and folks really liked the house-made remoulade that came with them. Everyone I interacted with was very helpful and kind– they recommended me suitable dishes for my event, respected my budget, and had an easy system for invoicing. If you are looking for a crowd-pleasing, tasty option to draw people to your event, Junebug cafe is a great choice!

Must try, got my New Orleans craving fix in Chicago! Had the Gumbo, Crawfish Pie, Cowboy Nachos, and the Beignet. My favorite which I’ll be coming back for are the Gumbo, Crawfish Pie, Cowboy Nachos. Tasted just like the restaurants in New Orleans! I was hoping the Beignet would be like Cafe Du Monde/ Cafe Beignet in New Orleans but didn’t meet the quite make it. Staff is friendly and atmosphere was french quarter like but fresh and clean.

Holy cow, I’ve never had a meat pie like this. So flavorful and filled to the brim with juicy meat, with a sauce that’s the perfect accompaniment. All washed down with a chicory coffee cold brew – so good. Came here to get some work done on my laptop and couldn’t resist trying something from the menu, everything smelled so good. Glad I did! Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Junebug Café in Six Corners is a gem. It’s a small, cozy spot with a warm Louisiana vibe, and the atmosphere makes you want to linger. The beignets are the real deal — not the donut-style imposters you see at some Chicago restaurants. Anyone who actually knows what a proper beignet should be will appreciate how on point Junebug’s are: light, airy, and authentically prepared.
I also tried the meat pie and the gumbo, and both were very good — flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. Between the food and the vibe, Junebug Café is absolutely worth checking out.

This NOLA-style diner is cozy, charming and has a great neighborhood vibe.
The staff / owner is friendly and accomodating. But the food here is truly wonderful and stays committed to its NOLA roots for the most part.
The po’ boys (separately shrimp and catfish) are really excellent on a buttered roll. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and good-sized. However, I was expecting a full filet of fried catfish, but it was 3 or 4 small/med pieces. The flavor though was on-point but would rather see traditional one-pieced filet.
The gumbo was excellent and is a meal in itself. The roux was super-flavorful with big chunks of sausage and chicken mixed with the trinity.
Lastly, the beignets was fantastic. Nicely fried dough with piles of powdered sugar on top, it was very messy. But luv’d it with cup of coffee. Defintely a place to return.
