As far as table service we felt somewhat ignored as the dirty dishes sat next to use the whole time we were there. They also did not offer us any condiments nor could we have asked because our waitress did not come over after we moved and we ended up getting up to find our own.
The food was absolutely excellent and so was the attitude of the staff. We enjoyed conversation with the sushi chef and the person who seated us was polite as well.
We hope next time it is a much better experience next time concerning the attentiveness. Thank you Jun!
Had to ask for waters, utensils, plates. . . Basically, everything other than the food itself.
My water had food particles in it, but I didn’t feel comfortable enough to ask for a new glass since I’d had to ask for water to begin with.
When the food did come out, the two California rolls we got were mismatched in cut, not cleaned up, and my dad got a significantly larger portion than mine. His was better looking but was cut unevenly.
The tempura was super bland, like straight up bland, the meat had no flavor and the batter was plain.
My chicken teriyaki was dry and not fully sauced. The salmon teriyaki tasted old and mushy, the sauce not really hiding the old tasting fish.
The waitress was SUPER nice but seemed nervous and confused.
Just overall not a good experience. I will not be returning to this location.
Jun’s rolls are also fabulous. I don’t like cream cheese in sushi rolls, ever…except at Jun, where somehow they make it work. We always get a Becca roll and a Blind Date roll and they are always phenomenal.
The atmosphere is nice, with a sort of traditional Japanese austerity to it, and the service is always pleasant. There are fake Japanese -style tables (floor level, but with a sort of well space to dangle your legs in if you’re not keen to sit in the Japanese manner) and I always appreciate it when I’m greeted with a hearty “Irasshaimase!” (the traditional greeting when customers enter shops and restaurants and such).
It’s an expensive meal, especially when you order like we do, so I don’t do it often, but when I do it’s worth every penny.
