This is the worst Chinese food ever. Has never been the best but has definitely gone down hill completely. This chicken and broccoli may look semi normal, but when you open the container and also smell the food itself, chicken shouldn’t smell like fish. It was absolutely disgusting. Not to mention the chicken were in paper thin slices and half cooked where the chicken was folded under. The rice was hard and covered in oil. It smelt so bad. Also got a wonton soup, where the wontons were mush and were absolutely disgusting. The little baggie of chips they give you for the soups were also extremely greasy and stale. This place needs to just close. They have no idea what they are doing when it comes to cooking Chinese food.

I went to Jombo Chicken in Freehold while looking for Asian stores in the area. I found this place on Google and was impressed by the photos — everything looked so tasty and well-presented online. But when I arrived, I was honestly shocked. The atmosphere was the complete opposite of what I expected. The place felt dry, uninviting, and lacked any warmth or charm. It gave off a low-effort, low-quality vibe.
The cashier didn’t help either — they weren’t friendly or welcoming, which added to the uncomfortable feeling.
I ordered the ribs and pork, hoping it would make up for the ambiance, but it only made things worse. The taste? 0/10. The presentation? Also 0/10. It looked nothing like the photos, and the flavor was bland and off. I walked out feeling disappointed and upset, like I just threw away $12 on a meal that wasn’t worth half of that.
What I saw online and what I experienced in real life were completely different. Sadly, I won’t be returning — and I don’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Asian food experience.

I don’t know what happened! This place used to be the best but now it’s consistently disappointing. Whatever you order comes bland even when it states spicy. Ordered beef in garlic sauce today and 90% of the order was vegetables. There wasn’t enough beef the even call it a beef dish. Back to looking for the best local Chinese

There’s no other than JUMBO KITCHEN. Big doesn’t always mean better. This small but functional establishment is Great! My go-to is House special fried rice, no chicken, 2 dollars, beef extra onion and scallion, well done, dark rice…yum yum yum. Stay great, my friends

Best chinese food in the area! Being from NY, I’ve always had trouble finding good chinese takeout spots in NJ since they’re very often bland or overpriced. I’m so happy I found Jumbo. The food is great, the portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable. My husband and I order from here at least twice a month and we’re never disappointed.

Pure Honesty. Its very sad story. I rarely eat chinese food anymore after 1 bad experience at this place….which the 4 previous times i kept saying, lets give it 1 more try. If a chinese place messed up General Tso chicken, it shouldnt be in business. This place 3 years ago had the best….from what i have read, owners changed. The 4 previous times, the chicken was BURNT, and never actually had any chicken in them, just fried pieces of fried pieces. But i was chasing the delicious taste i once had from the best Chinese restaurant in the area and it repeatly failed me. This final time… I order the General Tso Chicken Lunch Special. the General Tso chicken contains BONES in the pieces, and then i figured okay, ill eat the pork fried rice… the pork fried rice had BONES in it. Okay ill eat the pork fried dumplings and skip the rests… the sent me VEGETABLE Steamed Dumpings and when i called to complain they just yelled at me. Now to be fair… the delivery driver was always nice, id give him 5 stars. I ordered so much i got to know him and tipped well.. I would probably eat chinese twice a week. Now i havent had chinese in over a year! Thanks for ruining my taste for chinese food Jumbo Kitchen.. Please do the world a favor and go out of business.
