Food is fresh, well made, very tasty (not too sweet or too salty, although too much pepper and jalapeño for my particular taste of what I like for “spicy” but, then again, I have a boring British palate). I would describe my dish as an explosion of flavours, in the best of senses. Everything is made with care and thought, well balanced and the attention to detail is evident.
Service is excellent from the moment you cross the door to enter to the moment you cross it to leave. The vibrant atmosphere, the lively personalities of the staff, the smiles, the energy, the whole vibe made me feel like I was back in my 20s . I loved the place and will happily drive from Boston every time I fancy wholesome, homely diner food.

Julian’s on Broadway in Providence is a great place for brunch or breakfast. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a stylish, modern vibe that makes it feel both lively and comfortable. I especially love their smoked salmon lox bagel and the chicken and waffles—both were delicious! The menu has a nice variety, and everything we tried was flavorful and satisfying.
Service was friendly and attentive, though it was a bit slow during the busy rush. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get, and the overall experience makes it worth a visit. I’d definitely come back to try more dishes and enjoy the atmosphere again.

A recent Saturday brunch did not disappoint. Go early before the lines start on weekends — and go hungry. Staff is all welcoming and attentive. Take your time browsing the huge menu! We ordered an omelet and a hash and eggs dish, with another specialty hash on the side to taste. Be sure to ask for the housemade ketchup! Prices were very fair for the quality and quantity of food. Fun and creative cocktail menu. Now about the place itself — it’s worth a visit just for exploring the decor, the wall art and memorabilia. Our tabletop was made from antique printing plates found in the neighborhood. And don’t forget to go to the bathroom! Yes, my photo is one of the amazing figurine displays In. The. Bathroom. This particular street has so many restaurants to choose from, and if you can only choose one I’d recommend Julian’s.

I’m wary to share this opinion knowing how beloved Julian’s is! I think this was a case of something being so hyped up and my expectations were perhaps too high. Overall, it was a fine experience. I’d never made it before due to the long lines, but finally made it on a weekday. Our group agreed the food was fine, but not great. The atmosphere was fun and funky, but didn’t totally land with us. I’d definitely be willing to give it another go, knowing how much folks enjoy it here.

With a quirky gen X atmosphere, Julian’s has a solid brunch and lunch menu. The three of us in my party all ordered different things and there was not one disappointment on any of our plates. Our waitress was nice and made good recommendations about portion sizes.

Was super excited to try this place. I should have known the food was questionable with not many people there at 530. Got the smoked onion rings. They were very greasy and the fake smoke flavor was too overpowering. Also had the steak frites. Not good. Watched the cook press the steak on the grill. Overcooked and tough. Potatoes were weirdly coated and also not good. My wife had coconut shrimp and grits. She also did not care for her dish. Great for drinks and cool atmosphere…but not for food.

My husband and I tried this place for dinner on Monday for our last night of our Providence trip. I checked out the menu online first and was super excited to try this place since it had some unique veggie options and it did not disappoint! We went shortly after they opened, so it was pretty quiet in there (a perk, personally). I had the smoked tofu salad, the tempeh sausage and the tofu karaage and they were fantastic. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich and fish fritters of which he was also a fan. The Bird Point cocktail was very good and unique. My only regret was not having an extra stomach to try more things! Shoutout to Vivian for the excellent service, as well! The restaurant itself also offers a whole bunch of fun visuals, too. Julian’s will be a “must visit” on future Providence trips.

Wow! This was an accidental find when I was walking down the street and I was hungry. This place has such a cool atmosphere and super unique decorations. The service was absolutely amazing. Such nice, genuine, people working there! The food came out super fast and was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I live over an hour away but I will absolutely be coming back again a definitely coming at night to try one of their cocktails because they sounded so good. 5 out of 5 stars I am so impressed by everything from the quality of the food to the quality of the people!

We had a fabulous brunch. The chicken and waffles was awesome. The special home fries with bacon and chicken was fabulous. The pancakes and lattes were excellent.
Julian’s is always consistently good. It was a great way to start 2026. We highly recommend this place. We also used call ahead waitlist which worked out perfectly, since you need to wait outside waitress was excellent
