The food at Judy’s is always delicious! Of course, I have my favorites – country-fried steak, mashed potatoes, etc., with sweet tea to drink. The atmosphere is friendly, not fancy, and clean & bright. I think it’s worth the drive to Cerro Gordo (Fat Hill).

Passing through Cerro Gordo, Illinois one evening and decided to try this homey diner. Nothing fancy, but very warm small town vibe. Staff were very friendly and the food was pretty good. I had the fried cod plate (based on the waitresses recommendation) and it was delicious . Word of caution – they only take cash or personal checks. However, there is an ATM at the bank across the street. If you’re in Cerro Gordo, stop in and have a bite!

Food is great and staff is great, but wouldn’t be to much to ask to post being cash only on the door or anywhere for that matter, or get aquatinted with 2025 and take cards too.

This place is located in a small town but their food has a big taste! Wow family chicken dinner was amazing and good home cooking. The banana crème pie take out topped it off with amazing flavor and good size piece! I highly recommend for good food and friendly service. It was 37 min from Mahomet Il but worth the drive!

If you ever find yourself in Cerro Gordo, IL, make sure to swing by Judy’s Kitchen and Catering. This place is an absolute gem for anyone who loves home-cooked meals and that small-town breakfast vibe.
First off, the breakfast here is the real deal. Whether you’re craving French toast, pancakes, or the legendary haystacks, Judy’s has you covered. And the cinnamon rolls? They’re out of this world!
If you’re a fried chicken fan, look no further. Judy’s fried chicken is hands down the best around, especially if you hit up the chicken buffet on Wednesdays. Plus, you can’t go wrong with their classic burgers.
Don’t skip dessert either. Their homemade pies are something special—always fresh and bursting with flavor.
The staff is super friendly, and there’s plenty of seating, so you’ll always feel welcome. If you’re in the area, Judy’s is a must-visit. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Trying new places and heard this was a great place, but that’s from those that love fried chicken which isn’t us. Maybe if we went during the day shift it would have been different. Teenagers/young adults running the show. Waitress was friendly but we could hear cook complaining and we felt everyone wanted no customers so they could go home. $8.00 for 3 chicken strips? I could see that if they were the huge Chester chicken strips from County Market, but they weren’t. Burger was overcooked and the bun was soggy. Grilled chicken was charred. Waited forever for food and the two other tables had their food and people were not coming in constantly picking up to go orders. Won’t tell people not to go there, but I will share my experience and suggest try going during the day-maybe the day shift has better customer service.
