The citrus salad dressing made in house is bomb!!! Super clean atmosphere and friendly staff. We got egg rolls that were die for. Got the spicy chicken and it did not disappoint either. Go try this place!

First time here! Great service. The food was hot and fresh. The only downfalls were the Crab Rangoon’s. They were a bit on the thick and doughy side. Not a fan of how they folded these ones. The only other thing is the receipt states 5 pieces with the sesame balls, but you only get 3 per order! The spicy chicken could be spicier. You get plenty of food with your order. Everything was really good. It is good enough to look forward to coming back when we are through Salem. They will always be a plus in my book since my favorite item is the sesame balls. These ones seem to be made differently than the rest of the ones we have had. They were not overly greasy or doughy! For us they were perfect little balls of goodness! 🙂

Great food, clean, friendly service! The restaurant is family owned, and you can tell they take great pride in it. One of the owners is a vet. They make their own sauces, marinades, and dressings. We ordered an extra dish to go. We ate there during an Ironman race weekend. Good stuff!

My Fiancé and I really loved our experience here ❤️ We have both lived in Oregon most of our life, and I’ve been to a lot of different Asian Restaurants but this one excels all the ones we’ve been to by far. This place is special from the very moment you walk in, the atmosphere is peaceful. The staff are very kind, generous and respectful as is the Manager. The food is amazing, and artistic even. My Fiancé loves his sauces really spicy, so you can ask for the “extra hot” version of the house. Their house salad dressing was amazing with the chicken Teriyaki salad, and the Hawaiian Sushi roll was both delicious and beautiful ❤️ we also had their sake which usually I cannot do sake, but the one they had is amazing we celebrated our Valentine’s day early and I’m definitely not disappointed we will be back again to see everyone!

I first ordered from Door Dash and had the best Chicken Yakisoba add Beef I have ever had.
If it was that good after an hour delivery, I had to see what it was like in the restaurant.
It’s right next to Wendy’s on Lancaster and I was honestly a little hesitant at first looking at the signage. I was expecting some run down hole in the wall. I was so wrong.
After stepping through the door I was teleported to a classy restaurant that had a calming, peaceful, and inviting atmosphere.
Definitely worth the drive to go back. If you like the food that is on their menus definitely go try it.

I think their good reviews are well-deserved, as we also thought their food was delicious. Everything was well-seasoned, and the meats were all tender and cooked perfectly. They have a large menu, so there’s plenty to choose from depending on what you’re craving. The only con is that it is slightly more expensive than some other teriyaki places, but nothing that would prevent me from going. I would give them a try! There’s many teriyaki places in Salem but not all of them are good like J’s 🙂

Food is fantastic. Just not sure what the issue is with how long it takes to get an order. We’ve ordered from here three times using DoorDash. Driver shows up 15 to 20 minutes after the order has been put in and ends up having to wait 15 or 20 minutes more for the food. This last time we ordered yesterday the driver showed up about 15 minutes after the order was put in. And then messaged us after waiting for 25 minutes saying that they were informed the order had not even been started yet and they were canceling the order. This is super unfortunate because like I said, we love the food. But we’re unable to drive to the restaurant to pick it up ourselves. I tried calling and talking with somebody at the restaurant to see if there’s anything we could do differently and they told me don’t use DoorDash come into the store.

Every aspect of our experience at J’s Teriyaki has been truly delightful. The clean, uncluttered, and inviting interior, the warm and friendly service, and the delicious menu all blend perfectly for a dining experience worth repeating.
The menu is fresh and very tasty! (The proprietors apparently make the marinades and sauces themselves, and they clearly know how to do them right!) The salad and house dressing is crisp and perfectly sized. The gyoza is crispy and light, not chewy or dull. The sushi is perfectly presented, portioned, and presented. The ribs, beef, and chicken each have their own marinades and sauces, which complement their flavors very well.
All in all, if you are looking for fresh, delicious, Japanese-style cuisine in a friendly environment, do yourself a favor and stop in at this hidden gem.
P.S.: If you like things spicy, be sure to ask for J’s special *extra hot* sauce! It’s only for the brave, but it is a treat! (Fortunately, J’s has mochi ice cream available in case the heat gets too painful! )

I ordered the Spicy chicken plate, it was AMAZING! Not super spicy. Large portion! The egg rolls were delicious! I think it beats Love Love Teriyaki out of the water. I have already ordered from J’s again because it’s so good and I highly recommend it!
