After going to sunday mass, we visited this place for our breakfast. The ambiance is very nice, clean and welcoming. By the time we enter this resto the chef ( owner) greeted us and Eve assisted us on our way to our table. She rendered excellent customer service. Lots of choice on their menu. And the foods that we order is delicious. The washroom is clean too. Will recommend this resto to my friends .

J’s sunrise grill is 100% a hidden gem that you definitely need to check out. From the moment we walked in the door the owner, Ryza was incredibly genuine and friendly. The environment was a relaxed cafe style and the food was delicious and beautifully presented! The experience was overall a slam dunk, we will absolutely be back.

Dearest foodies- 16 of my close friends joined me in a culinary experience last night for a Filipino boodle fight. This place is a brunch resto but offers a kamayan feast after 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The service before, during and after the event was excellent. Owners Ryza and Naigel took exceptional care.
During planning, they sent a few menu options which included the meal, taxes and we added in a tip. We communicated via email on final numbers a week prior and the day of the event to ensure all would go smoothly. Cost was $50/pp and we had lumpia (spring rolls), a pigs head with crispy chicharron, pork tocino, milk fish, chicken inasal, longanisa, beef tapas, shrimps, vegetarian pancit (noodles), mussels, cinnamon grilled pineapple, and so much more.
We each had our own plate of rice and a pair of gloves as the food was served on a giant platter. The traditional way is to eat with your hands and no utensils. We had 3 of the same platters and took up the entire resto! Our dessert was a creme caramel with ube and because I am dairy free, they made a special pavlova with fruit for me, yippee!!!
Ryza was amazing as they even helped us decorate, explained everything at the start of the meal, took pics and videos and ensured our group was happy and well fed. Ryza even checked in with me on when to serve dessert, when to remove and pack the leftovers, setup the music for ambiance etc. The hospitality and energy was so amazing- then again, I have the most amazing friends in my life!
I rarely rave but as a lover of new cultural experiences, having this available to us in our city is a real treat! They are located in a plaza with plenty of free parking. Make a family night of it and have the boodle then go to the Locked Room or Flying Squirrel next door.
This place has only been open a year so please show some Calgary food love to this lovely little place!

The food was so fresh, tasty, and delicious.

We went here for a boodle fight for a special occasion. We were greeted and seated by Ryza, our host soon as we walked in. She was super friendly and genuine which just added to the amazing experience that was the traditional Filipino feast known as a boodle fight. The food was absolutely delicious and even with 5 of us and 3 hungry teenagers there was plenty left to take with us! We are absolutely going to plan more special occasions here.

We tried the Salo-Salo feast (traditional Filipino dining experience) and it did not disappoint! The food quality was top tier and was more than plenty for 9 adults (plus we still had leftovers to take home!) the hospitality by the owners is unmatched. The fact that they even stayed after business hours to accommodate me and my family for my mom’s birthday dinner, really appreciated! If you’re looking to try Filipino cuisine for the first time or just looking for a hidden gem, as a Filipino, I highly recommend this! Will definitely be coming back to try their breakfast menu!
