This was my first visit to J’s Breakfast Club, and I came with my husband looking forward to a good breakfast experience. Unfortunately, it fell a bit short.
We were greeted and seated promptly, which was appreciated. However, the service became inconsistent after that. One waitress slid our drinks onto the table without saying a word, which felt a bit impersonal. Another waitress took our order and chose not to write anything down. While I appreciate confidence and efficiency, that approach doesn’t work for everyone—part of my order was forgotten.
I ordered the chicken biscuit, and it was disappointing. The chicken was overcooked and bland, and the biscuit was very hard—so much so that I had to separate the chicken and biscuit just to eat it. Even then, the lack of flavor made it difficult to finish the meal.
Overall, the experience was just okay. There’s potential here, but both the food quality and service consistency need improvement.

This was my first time visiting this establishment and the service was great . Here’s the not so good part, I placed an order for 6 people totaling over $125. The shrimp and grits were bland, they chopped the shrimp up instead of leaving them whole, the grits tasted like water and had no flavor, the salmon croquettes had no flavor, the eggs had no flavor the pork chop was the only thing seasoned and worth eating and we literally didn’t eat it all. My thing is seasoning goes a long way and they fell short. Still I wish them nothing but the best and hopefully they improve on the quality of the food. I would say that it was a waste of money but because I don’t live in the state more than likely I’ll never return.

I’m just passing thru town and was looking for breakfast and this place popped up, I haven’t even got my food yet and I already love this place, very calm and smooth jazz playing and the way they have it decorated is so beautiful. I wish they had these in Dallas tx where I’m from I would go every chance I got. Wait staff were very sweet girls.

Everythingggggggg is good awesome delicious words can’t explain how amazing this food is. Not everything good. The fried Green Tomatoes is off the chain. Omgggg. Super happy. My new restaurant hands down.

Our family had an amazing meal here and can’t wait to go back again!! I had the grits with shrimp and catfish and a Bloody Mary, it was incredible. The service was phenomenal as well!

I think they really just put the crochets together and not really seasoned and no bell peppers and onions to give it that flavor FLAVOR . They look like the grease was not clean cause how dark they were. and the rice was really bland. BUT that sweat tea was on POINT #SMASHTIME but no refills come on how many drinks will people get.

My friends and I (3 people) decided to dine here despite what I read in the reviews. I wanted to support a Black Owned Business because I’m a business owner myself . Unfortunately the reviews were correct. Food lacked flavor, our waitress disappeared on us and we had additional gratuity charges on our bill (the waitress corrected it after we brought it to her attention). One of us had to walk to the counter to ask for the rest of our order. The atmosphere was great! We were greeted when we walked in the door by a very nice person. I normally try to see the benefit of the doubt when food service is in place but this seems to be the language of their business. Best of luck to you! I always want to see us win.

I ordered fried green tomatoes with okra, strawberry smoothie for take out. The only ok thing I ate was the okra green tomatoes jus fell right out when I took a bit no type of seasoning at all strawberry smoothie tasted like water no flavor at all totally disappointed for my first time visiting. Gave 3 stars for atmosphere because music was soothing nice place but need new cook for sure. Location broadway.

This restaurant caught my attention earlier this year. I really wanted to stop by something and try their food especially the chicken waffles. After a long day of not eating, I decided to have breakfast for dinner. And the taste was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to order here again. Maybe next time I’ll bring friends and we can dine in and share the experience.
