Food was great and service was fantastic. The shrimp, brisket, and ribs were delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable, she recommended the ribs and cobbler and they were fabulous. We waddled out after eating everything. Would highly recommend JR’s and will be back next week.

On my first visit I walked in with my mother who happens to be overweight. I witnessed a large man who is part of management stare my mom up and down, thank God my mom did not notice, but I did notice and almost had to speak to this man, until he notice me noticing him and he stopped staring at my mom. I thought I’d give this place a second chance since the food was good. Well today our order was wrong and I witnessed this same man laughing because they got it wrong. I don’t care how good the food is, service with attitude I do not put up with. I’m spending my hard earned money here. I can choose some where else to spend our money. Well never eat here again. Poor service is unacceptable, there are too many good bbq joints to ever return for poor service!!!!

Wow. This place used to be great. In fact, we had them cater several family functions and a wedding. But as of recently (the last year), it is terrible. I went in tonight, and the cashier was surly with me and a couple of other customer. Outright rude. We ordered ribs for carry out…they were so over cooked/smoked and dry and tough..yuck. This is our third, and last bad experience….JR’s is off our list!

The meat was great but the sides they gave us with our meal were old. The Mac and cheese was hard and dry as well as the beens . Service was okay…. could be more friendly. The BBQ nachos had amazing flavor . I will go back to give this place one more try .

Friendly service and excellent food. The brisket and pulled pork we’re prepared properly and not dry. There was an appropriate amount of sauce for flavor. Happy with our end of the night choice to stop and eat.

The waitress was horrible… Wow. Was as helpful as a match in a burning house.. first time there an the guy at the counter didn’t speak much English. We wanted something small before our meeting. After ordering a plate to split. we went to sit down an wait.. we passed a buffet where we could have helped ourselves an avoided all the guessing an questions. Good grief!! Waitress didn’t refill drinks, no extra plate,no flatware.. no greeting, food was good not great but good BBQ. But service if you call it that. Sucked!

We just ate there this evening for my birthday dinner. We got the seafood buffet the price was great for seafood. The place was clean and the food was Great. I will be coming for more. I believe everything is House made. AND THAT IS WORTH THE MONEY. Compliment to the Chef.

Rarely do I write reviews but the service was so bad I had to say somthing. I went in to dine and sat myself at one of the few clean tables. I waited for 15 minutes. Nobody came to help me. Nobody bussed the dirty tables near me. After the 15 minutes were up I wandered up to the front near the take out area. Nobody would even make eye contact with me. So I left and spent my money elsewhere. Never in thirty years have i experienced this lack of caring and service. Just a horrible experience.

BEST CATFISH AROUND!!! Hands down, best in town! They had a seafood buffet, which had CATFISH, cod fillets, clams, jumbo shrimp, popcorn shrimp, coleslaw, etc. Like any buffet in New Mexico, there was room for enchiladas, beans and green Chile stew. Huge glasses for drinks, so nice for when I’m thirsty. Staff is polite and attentive, even when you’re not their table.
