Let us tell you a little about ourselves… On June1, 1996, after retiring from LLCC, John “Coz” Costello opened Coz’s Pizza & Pub in a converted pole barn in Curran Illinois, just a few miles west of White Oaks Mall on Route 36. Mrs. Coz served as a bartender and Tim, then 14 years old, assisted in the kitchen, washing dishes and busing tables. This restaurant sat about 35 patrons including a bar for five. Within a few months it was clear the place was too small to accommodate the crowds. With standing room only, patrons chose to place carryout orders. One particular evening, a family of four was observed hovering over the hood of their car, dining on a 16” pizza.

Was excited to try a new place, but never got the chance to try the food. I understand being shorthanded, however, my family and I sat down for around 25 minutes without ever getting even out drink orders taken. There was a table sat after us and they were immediately served. The server walked past us multiple times with no concern.

First time here. I Had wings (Tommy style) and a few Smithwicks drafts. Food came out reasonably quick. Female bartender was engaging and knowledgeable. Manager was kind and helpful. The atmosphere is great. I will be back. 5/5

We came for our nephews birthday. The food was all amazing. I had the Italian Beef and I added the cheese sauce from the horseshoes. So good. Thanks to Bry for being an attentive server. We will be back.

Best pizza in the Tri-State area. Their frozen pizza is unmatched in quality. Wings, (Tommy style!) beef, burgers. You can’t go wrong at JT Costelloe’s. Great job!

Our second visit there as we loved it the first time and we were glad we stopped. We both got the pizza flights (what an awesome idea) to try several of their specialties and all were excellent! The JT Special was our favorite. The pizza takes a bit longer than normal as they’re made fresh but SO worth the wait. And even though it was fairly busy the service was very good. If you’re in Springfield and love pizza give this place a try!

I dont know what has changed at my favorite pizza place but my pizzas are getting skimpy. I always order the large meatlover and it has gotten so light over time. Just picked up another one and it has half of the cheese and ingredients than it did in the past. Please address this issue.

Stopped at Costello’s to get dinner at 5:15 on a Tuesday night. There was a sparse crowd in the bar and two occupied tables in the dining room. We ordered our food with our drinks almost immediately after being seated. My family and I ordered a single serving of 12 traditional wings, a one topping 9” pizza, and two children’s pizzas. It took approximately 70 minutes to receive our food after ordering. There were no updates about the wait time from the service staff.
