The Wagyu burger, though, was a letdown. Amazing fries, but the burger itself was surprisingly bland—even with grilled onions and cheese. For $26–$28, the “Wagyu” label felt more like marketing than magic. I’ve honestly had more flavorful burgers at In-N-Out (animal style), which isn’t a great look for a high-end burger.
On the bright side, my wife’s risotto was excellent—easy 10/10. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the risotto was rich and flavorful, and even the waitress said it’s one of her favorite dishes (advice I should’ve taken).
Bottom line: great atmosphere, good service, one standout dish—but skip the burger. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return unless someone else was choosing. Street parking only, mostly free if you’re lucky.
The staff went above and beyond — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They handled everything with professionalism and compassion, making sure we felt supported throughout the entire event.
And the food… absolutely fantastic. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor — our guests are still talking about it!
Big shout out to Robby and team who was incredibly helpful navigating the entire process. They were a pleasure to work with.
I’m so grateful to the entire staff for helping us create such a special and memorable day.
A highlight of the visit was seeing Executive Chef Gabriel Merino, whose cuisine I’ve enjoyed at other locations in San Diego. He graciously visited our table, introduced himself, and walked us through several menu selections. His passion for the cuisine was evident, and his attentiveness elevated the entire dining experience, including a thoughtful check-in and a tasting of a specially created Valentine’s Day passion fruit cheesecake and a beautifully executed panna cotta with cherries — both exceptional.
Having followed Chef Merino’s career, it was especially rewarding to see his continued success reflected in the quality and care coming out of the kitchen. JRDN delivers not only on food but on hospitality, and brunch there is well worth the visit.
