JP’s is a fantastic spot with consistently great food and excellent service. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always makes you feel welcome. Highly recommend for a delicious, enjoyable dining experience! I had the blackened salmon with tomatoes, perfectly grilled asparagus, goat cheese and fresh pesto. The portion was generous & price was reasonable. Will definitely be back.

I’ve always enjoyed dining at JP’s—the food is consistently good and the atmosphere is welcoming. However, now that I’ve discovered a gluten sensitivity, my recent visit was a bit disappointing.

I asked if my favorite dish, the baked haddock with crumb topping, could be made gluten free by simply leaving off the crumbs. The waitress kindly checked with the kitchen, but they said they couldn’t make that adjustment. There also weren’t any clearly gluten-free options on the menu aside from pasta, which I don’t eat.

I completely understand that not every kitchen is set up to handle every dietary restriction, but I think a little flexibility—especially for something as simple as omitting breadcrumbs—would really help customers feel seen and supported. I hope JP’s will consider adding more inclusive options or offering small accommodations like this in the future.

I’d love to keep coming back, but I left this visit feeling a bit let down.

JP’s Bistro in Falmouth, ME is truly a gem and has a special place in my family’s heart. Every visit feels like a treat — the warm atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently delicious food make it one of our all-time favorite spots.

The Italian cuisine here is outstanding. The appetizers are always fresh and flavorful, the entrees are perfectly prepared, and the daily specials never disappoint — in fact, they’re often the highlight of the meal! And of course, we can never leave without indulging in one of their amazing desserts, which are the perfect way to end a great evening.

The staff is always welcoming and attentive, adding to the charm of what feels like a true neighborhood favorite. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special family occasion, JP’s Bistro delivers every single time. Highly recommend this restaurant — it’s everything you could want in a local Italian bistro!

We have dined at JPs numerous times and never a miss from the front of the house to the kitchen crew and the waitstaff (our 2nd time in a row with Jenny, and she was fabulous). The meal choices cover a to z, and you would be hard pressed not to be impressed by the kitchen. Cocktails were over the top good. Fried calamari is a must with the diavlo sauce. Bruschetta and the crab bisque were both excellent along with our entrees of linguini carbonara, rigatoni bolgonese, and the andrew scallop special. Portions are on the larger side, so if you are planning on dessert, do plan your meal or get it to go.

We just had a fabulous dinner at JP’s. This was our second time back – we had the same server (Jenny) who did an awesome job and the other wait staff were also quick and efficient. The food both times has been next level. It is easy to see why reservations are pretty much required to get a table. Highly recommend and we will be back again soon!

Waitress kept trapping our food before we were done! Without asking! Dark haired and skinny. Thank food is way to expensive to have that happen. Something wrong with her management!

I also had a very bizarre experience while dining at JP’s. My sisters and I went out for dinner for some fine Italian food and i ordered the chicken parm. While waiting for our entrees, I could see many appetizers and side salads were being sent out to wrong tables and back to the kitchen quite frequently. I didn’t think anything of it. My salad (demi with no tomato) did go to the wrong table, but I knew it would eventually makes it way to me. I didn’t complain.

The table in front of us received some of their entrees and my sister in front of me got hers. I and my sister to my right continued our conversation. My entrees soon appeared in front of me while I was mid conversation. A hot plate smothered in parm cheese and rigatoni pasta (looked like the right order to me)!! I started with bites of my pastas.

The table in front of us, sent back their food again, saying they didn’t order chicken parm. They ordered eggplant parm. The waitress was almost in tears stating she gave it to another table and would pay for that gentlemans particular plate. I soon realized I had eggplant parm as I moved the melted cheese around.

35 minutes later is when the waitress returned to our table. She was telling other tables about her mistakes and how she could cry. I didn’t want to upset her, but I didn’t want eggplant parm and didnt want to pay for a $ 31 meal that I didn’t order. I simply said, “so I know you know you mixed these up” and pointed at the plate. She replied with a sacrastic tone, “well yes, i said eggplant parm when I set it down and you were eating it, so I thought you were fine with it.” It was in that moment, I realized she was blaming me for her mistake. I was confused. How could I be to blame for her placing the wrong order in front of me? I didn’t hear her say anything. Did she not write down what I ordered? Why is this such an issue here? I know people are human and I’m all for forgiveness but why is she blaming me?

At that point, I was ready to be done dinner and angry, but could not bring myself to say anything to the waitress as I was trying to be a good person and not make her day any worse.

Later on she offered to pay for a dessert for me and did take it off the bill, which I’m sure comes out of her paycheck by the sounds of her behavior and other reviews on here.

This is very sad.

Hope things get better.

Friend and colleague took me to dinner here and the atmosphere was alive and vibrant. Service was spectacular and attentive, making sure our glasses were full. Adding a side salad was perfect to compliment my chicken piccata over linguine. Mind you, the lemon caper sauce was more oil based than cream, a welcomed departure from what I’m used to. The dish was served with plenty of capers, as that’s really what brings out the flavor for this dish. Shared a tiramisu for dessert.

This was a gem of a restaurant that we found as out of town guests getting into town late.

All of the staff clearly worked as a team to take care of guests. There were a bunch of local regulars in the night we were there. That is always a good sign.

My toasted coconut margarita, in a tall glass, was tasty.

We shared a bruschetta that had perfect little tomatoes and olives. I ordered a side of mushroom risotto, it is one of our favorites to cook at home. This was creamier than ours. I had the seafood casserole and my husband order the chicken dish that had a rich red sauce.

So many choices, we would happily revisit when we are in town again.
