LA LYNDEN
We’ve been here 4 or 5 times since they changed owners. Every time, the food was made to order – hot, fresh and delicious.
We always order the Cashew Chicken – it has lots of veggies and cooked and seasoned perfectly. We’ve also tried the sautéed vegetables, Moo-Shu Pork, and the Sweet and Sour Prawns. All were pretty great.

Tucked in from the downtown main street is this diner-style Chinese restaurant with great family-style dinners. We loved everything we tried and the service was so sweet and friendly. We started with the corn soup, some egg rolls, ran rangoons, veggie egg foo young, sweet and sour chicken, ginger-garlic beef and sesame balls. We had leftovers and they were excellent the next day, too. A must stop.

Really good Orange chicken. Crispy breading, fairly sweet sauce, and a pretty good portion size with the lunch menu.

For my opinion, shrimp in lobster sauce looks like someone vomited on your plate — and it tastes just as disgusting, like some slimy goo. We also ordered beef with broccoli, but a few pieces of “beef” was in real life for my test it spoiled pork with that nasty fatty pork flavor.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I’m of the “there’s better Chinese food in Canada” camp, but Joy Luck was definitely worth eating. I love that you can add chow mein or fried rice to any entree. It makes a great meal, and I couldn’t finish what I got. The wontons are made with chunks of chicken, rather than ground meat, which was a pleasant surprise. The sweet and sour pork was served with the sauce on the side. We didn’t get to eat the food until 45 minutes after picking up, but it was still quite perfect. The food is not super salty, or amazingly flavorful, but that is a result of not using MSG, which I fully support! I look forward to visiting again.

Pretty decent American Chinese food, I do think the fried rice could have been stir-fried a bit longer, but it was still good! The lunch combo is a pretty good price point 🙂 Great corn egg drop soup. Very sweet people, too.

The food is really good and the portions are a great size. We got sesame chicken, sweet n sour chicken, chicken chop suey, fried and white rice, chow mein and egg drop soup. It’s not too salty or overly sweet. Each dish was well prepared and great flavor. The staff is very nice and friendly!

First time costumer. It was amazing food. Enough to feed us 2 dinners. Did take out and was still hot and fresh after a 20 minute drive back home.

I visit Lynden frequently, but this is the first time I’ve eaten at this restaurant. It will not be the last! Me and my family were there just after they’d opened on a Wednesday morning, and were the only people at a table the whole time we were there. What is wrong with you, Lynden? This place is fantastic! It is clean and nice inside, the waitstaff is friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious!
I am (the only one in my family who is) a vegetarian, and I was happy to find several vegetarian items on the menu, including the dish I ordered — Kung Pao Tofu — which is one of three fried tofu dishes on offer. The secret to fried tofu is, it has to start life as “extra firm”. I’ve had it in restaurants that use something softer, and it is awful. Joy Luck knows how it’s done. Their version is excellent.
For what it is worth, the other people with me both had cashew chicken (one with rice, one with noodles) and both reported their meals to be excellent as well.
Anyway, I can highly recommend Joy Luck Chinese! Try it. I will certainly be by at least once from now on, every time I’m in town.

Went here with Mom couple days ago. Really good Chinese food. Nice atmosphere. Also, really close to my house, which is a plus.
