I found Jovitos while searching for a Chicago style Italian beef sandwich. I am from Kansas City and not Chicago. I have never had one from Chicago. I’m saying this to say that I don’t have much to compare it to. Anyway the sandwich was delicious in my opinion. The man who runs the place is always friendly. It’s a nice little hidden spot in Waldo that I’m sure many people would enjoy. I plan on trying other sandwiches or entree’s from there

What a good vibe! Super friendly, very welcoming. For the price, the food was delicious with tons of options! Dining room could be a little crowded if theres a lot of deliveries going out since it’s a small spot, but honestly just kinda added to the family vibes. Great spot for a quick and well priced little evening out.

Nice place. Free parking in the rear with all the construction. I had the meatball grinder and my wife had the Italian panini. Very nice! The artichoke and tomato salad was delicious! We can’t wait to try the lasagna and Italian beef!

My meatball grinder was delicious! It’s the house special. I wish it had been served hotter. It was lukewarm. My wife felt her Italian panini would have benefited from some shredded lettuce.

The chocolate mousse cake was the highlight of the day. Wow! Just perfect!

Jordan helped us and he was very nice and thorough. He gave us some lovely tips.

I forgot to bring my lunch to work today and was looking at area eateries to grab lunch. I stumbled on Jovito’s and after seeing the menu, shared it with the person I office with. Excited, I called in an order for a Chicken Parm Panini and an Italian Steak and Sausage combo. I went in to pick it up. Our food was ready and I picked up a Lemon cookies that were moist and not overly sweet, and frosted figs that I’m now ion love with. Food was still hot when I got back to the office and it hit the spot. The atmosphere was chill, and felt like the family spot down the street in any random Chicago neighborhood. This will be a weekly endeavor for me from now on. Thank you!

Came in for a freshly cooked sit down meal on a plate, and I got cold ravioli that was microwaved. I ordered ravioli alfredo with sausage. I got lukewarm to cold ravioli in a plastic tray with a lid, like it was one of those prepackaged meals you order. The sausage was in red sauce in a plastic cup with lid. I got a cold roll and a cold pad of butter and plastic silverware. I have this marked on my map because of some good reviews, I can now remove it. $30 for cold microwaved? food and 2 sodas. (The sandwiches may be good)

I love this place…Its pickup and delivery only but there’s a place you can eat outside if you.. can stand the humidity this week. You can wait inside for your food and look at the memories and cool memorabilia or sit down and solve a Rubik’s cube. I had the North end panini and it was sooooo good after a long days work. I definitely recommend if your close and want a sandwich or something sweet…come here.. The pastry case was tempting…

This place has the best Calzone I have eaten in my lice up until now. It was perfect! Flakey soft crust and super cheesy inside. I got meatball, mushroom, and ricotta as the three fillings. I was so impressed and enjoyed every bite.

I also got the Italian wedding cookies, and they were also delicious. They were homemade as well.

You can’t eat inside but they have a porch area that works great on a nice day.

This place has been on my radar not long since it opened, and I finally was able to drop by and pick up fettucine alfredo, pepperoni calzone, toasted ravioli, and an Italian steak sandwich, all of which were great. I thought the sandwich was one of the best I’ve had in a long while. Eclectic, cool vibe of a hippy vintage/antique store in the front. There is no indoor seating other than to a place to wait for your food take out, but they have a small deck with seating in the front, and a larger deck in back. Friendly, laidback service. Keep this local joint alive and well, folks.

I found this deli spot, and had wanted to visit, had a great chance today.

Found out they only have outside dining (tables in access way, and back patio) and takeout or pickup.

We ordered great things for lunch. I wanted some of their cucumber salad, as that’s my favorite snd I’m always looking for this side.

I had penne pasta with meat sauce, my favorite for lunch, and wifey had a turkey sandwich. Both great.

They have Italian beef, and will give it a try next time. We got used to that from having a Portillo’s near us in Orange County, and am glad to see it here.

Being in Waldo and with the streets being busy, you park in back. If you’re like me and don’t get around, there’s no front parking by the entrance. There is handy parking in the back, and a walkway to the front for them and other businesses there.

I added a sign mentioning the original Smokestack, lots of nice memorabilia while you wait if you don’t order ahead.

Had our order ready and on our way.
