We went to Jouvert Caribbean Cuisine in Atlanta last night, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. I called ahead for a group of three, and the manager on duty, Adrian, greeted us personally and made sure everything was ready when we arrived. From that first interaction, the hospitality felt warm and genuine.
Our waitress was a sweet Jamaican girl from Westmoreland, and she gave the kind of friendly, down-to-earth service that instantly made us feel at home. The food came right though the wait time was moderate, especially the rice and peas, which was honestly the best we’ve ever had. (Minus the extra pimento seeds lol) You could taste the authenticity and love in every bite.
The restaurant itself was clean, modern, and comfortable with a great island ambiance. You can tell they take pride in every details, from the presentation of the dishes to the professionalism of the staff.
If you’re looking for real Jamaican flavor in Atlanta…..not just the food, but the heart and warmth of the culture — Jouvert Caribbean Cuisine is the place. We’ll definitely be back!

The service by Necia was amazing and both of our dishes were absolutely fantastic – Teriyaki Steak & Eggs and Curry Goat with peas & rice and bok choy. Lots of flavors and very fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed sitting outside with our pup!

I visited this restaurant with my mother today arrived at 12:26 pm. Initially, it was a pleasant experience the restaurant was quiet with only two tables occupied, and the server greeted us right away. The atmosphere was nice. However, after we sat down, things changed. We waited over an hour for our breakfast platter and wings with fries, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Please see the attached pictures for proof of how slow and empty it was. When our food arrived, the fries were cold, and my mother’s breakfast platter had eggshells in her eggs. The bacon was unevenly cooked, with some pieces crispy and others limp. The server didn’t ask how we wanted our eggs or bacon prepared and refilled our coffee cup about 30 minutes after the first serving only when I asked. The cups were chipped and burned, as shown in the pictures. The breakfast platter included a waffle, but the server forgot to bring syrup and extra napkins. After we mentioned these issues she brought out another platter but still charged us, despite the long wait. After receiving the remake, we left immediately. The gratuity was automatically added even though the service and food were poor. $50 down the drain. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I wish I could get my money back.

First time at this particular restaurant for both of us I was visiting Atlanta. My food order was not the best. Initially I couldn’t decide if I wanted to do the shrimp and grits, so I asked to sample the grids to ensure able to what I would like to eat instead of ordering something and sending it back, I was told by my server, “we don’t sample here”. Cool so I change my order, to the vegetable omelette with the salad and I ordered a side order of fries. The person I was with also ordered a oxtail grilled cheese which they didn’t have. Something else you wanted as well, but they didn’t have either, so she ended up ordering callaloo with lump crab and a vegetable omelette. As we were sitting and waiting for my our orders, The young man serving the food to the customers, his pants was up under his behind and his boxers was exposed with his apron covering the front, not a good sight. When mentioned to the waitress she said something to him and he adjusted himself. As we were waiting again for the food to come out. I observed that the young man with a basket of fries, a omelette and salad go over to the another table, as they quickly told him that was not their order. He went back with the kitchen area and then came back with their correct order for that table Few minutes later he proceeded to bring the same order to our table and it was my order, he apologized but said they didn’t touch it, which I saw that they did not, but that just didn’t sit well with me, I accept it anyway the omelet was over cooked because it had brown on it from the skillet being to hot or cooking to long,. My omelette didn’t have but one or two pieces of red peppers in it but that was a veggie omelette. When my friend omelette arrived I noticed she had huge pieces of peppers and different things coming out of it and I was like well goodness your omelette looks different than mine and it was a veggie omelette as well. After speaking with the manager, not so helpful however, I didn’t particular care whether he gave me a discount or not because that’s not the purpose of my visit, I came to patronize a black owned restaurant and get quality service. Have good consistent food and quality of service when we’re spending a decent amount of money for a decent meal. But one thing for sure that I can attest to whether he agree or not agree, I will not never return back to that restaurant and spend my money. The young lady the waitress because she didn’t she only ask for our order but, s someone else bought our food didn’t make sense to me but that’s how they work that I guess. The young lady (waitress) was absolutely appalled at her colleague and I’m certain at the way her manager handled the situation.

Went there food and atmosphere was nice . Shelby was working the bar and served me there during the happy hour. Gratuity was included in the meal which was no problem I left an addition $3.20 to make the tip a flat $10. However, I just got notification a day later that my card was charged $32 extra.
I advise ya be careful of the low key scamming going on. It could be cause they were drinking on the job as well I don’t know. But great food and atmosphere just be careful with the low key scamming. Experiences like this make it hard to support black businesses smh. I never had this problem with the “others”. However, I notice black businesses up-charge and do simple stuff like this. Like was this worth the bad review smh
I had to call my credit card because calling the merchant was not successful. That’s why it gets a one star. But enjoy the food photos.

Had a great brunch with my family! All of the food came out super hot and fresh. The blueberry hennessy pancakes were delicious and definitely the star of the show. The oxtail grilled cheese was also fantastic. We wished the shrimp and grits were a larger portion and the steak on the sandwich was sliced a bit thinner but overall we had a great meal. The service was a little disorganized but still good and there was a live DJ which we enjoyed.

Delicious….. Authentic tasting…… I appreciate when a West Indian place has plant based options. I chose the vegetable roti but decided to add shrimp as I am not Vegan. I will say it will not be my last time here.

This charming little spot is absolutely delightful, boasting not only an inviting atmosphere but also a menu filled with mouthwatering dishes. I recently visited during their happy hour, which takes place on Thursdays and Fridays from five to seven, and I couldn’t resist indulging in the amazing five-dollar bites they offer. I made it my mission to sample every single item on the list, and I was not disappointed.
The ambiance is perfect for a cozy date night or a fun girls’ night out, and I was excited to learn that they now host a fabulous Sunday brunch. The rum punch was a standout – rich and authentic, with a flavor that transport you straight to the tropics.
I wholeheartedly recommend making a trip for happy hour to try everything on the menu, and you might just want to return for a full meal as well, as this establishment truly deserves your business. I tried every item on the happy hour menu, and I confidently give each one a perfect five out of five. Everything was artfully prepared and thoughtfully presented, making my dining experience all the more delightful.
Among the many delectable bites, my favorites were the beef patty, the flavorful fritters, and the street corn – which was simply phenomenal. The corn stood out for its unexpected coconut flavor, adding a unique twist that left me craving more. In short, everything was just delicious, and I can’t wait to return!
