We are locals and this restaurant been one of our favorite place to dine. The staff are very nice and friendly. The food is awesome! Our personal favorites are Beef and Cheese Enchilada, Beef Quesadilla, Caldo De Res, Chicken Alambre and Jose’s Salad.
Make sure to also order their Tres Leches cake to conclude your meal!

I had not eaten here in 15 years at least – just never thought of it – but the place has sentimental value so I decided to go for old times sake. The service was fine and the atmosphere was ok. But the food was beyond dismal. I ordered the steak a la tampiqueña, a long-time favorite at other places.
The refried beans were ok. The enchilada was also ok, plenty of chicken in it, very little sauce.
But the steak looked and tasted like it had been cooked several days before and stored uncovered in a fridge. I would lay money that’s exactly what happened to it. It was dry looking and tasted chalky. It was luke-warm. It was brought out about two or three minutes after I ordered it. No way it was cooked to order. Plated and microwaved; the refried means ate most of the microwaves.
Will never go again.

I wish the server would be more friendly. The server that we had was not good. We tried to be friendly and always say thank you everytime. She has this straight face. It ruins the atmosphere as we were dining in. They need to work more on their customer service. I had steak and grilled shrimp (very salty) but everything was boiled first and they’re not fresh.

Not a fan of the fajitas, too many beans with the taco Al carbon, ground beef under seasoned, my enchiladas tortillas were not cooked enough. Some great meals, some not. Good prices. Great service.

This place is good. We had tacos and enchiladas norteñas. It was nice to get unlimited chips and salsa. The service was also very nice and the ambience was great.

I lived in Texas for my whole young adult life and went to Texas A&M. Recently moved to the midwest where Tex-Mex food is nonexistent. Came here my first trip back hoping for some good home food and couldn’t have been more wrong!
Firstly the service was well below par. The margarita I was served was yellow and watery tasting, worst I ever had. The queso looked and tasted as if it was bought at a grocery store, melted velveeta cheese would have been better. The fajitas I ordered were grey and tasted worse than italian beef I could’ve gotten on the side of the road in chicago. The grey meat was one of the worst sights I’ve seen in my life. I have never left a restaurant without eating my food but once the food was served I couldn’t leave this place quicker. I would never subject my family and friends to an experience like this, definitely will not be returning to this restaurant and I would strongly recommend anyone to steer clear.

Very middle of the road Tex Mex, nothing offensive but nothing that really stands out. Everything is quite mild. They put roast beef and potatoes in their chile relleno so take that for what you will.

Pretty standard Tex Mex place. Nothing special, wasn’t terrible either. I had their platter with a cheese enchilada, a beef enchilada, a bean chalupa, a crispy beef taco, a chili con queso tosada, rice and beans. My favorite was the bean chalupa and the rice. Everything else was just ok. The meat in the taco and beef enchilada was flavorless. They used the same cheese on everything, the tostada, the cheese enchilada, etc. Service was good, the building was older but clean.

Nice, casual Mexican food restaurant in Bryan. Lots of room inside and a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Service was a little spotty with a long wait time, but just be patient.

Quite an inexpensive options! I can not call the Jose’s a Fine dining place, but food was good. I think it is great for lunch. Very authentic Mexican dishes. I have had Enchilada Dinner Grande (three different enchiladas), see photo. Great fresh and tasty chips with delicious salsa. Great service. Thank you!
