They’ve been all over as far as their menu. This place used to have the best food/ steaks in crested butte. It’s an ok menu but the management the wait staff the bartenders are amazing both in quality and service … you will enjoy your time here let’s hope one day the food selection stands up to the stellar quality of people they have on staff

Best atmosphere in CB. By far

Great breakfast and lunch options with a Mountain View! Love sitting on the patio that’s at the base of the mountain, with live music most days. Food has really improved in flavor and creativity. No lines for breakfast in the morning and service is quick

José Crested Butte has a huge outdoor patio area and it is a great place to sit back and enjoy a pint of beer and you relax and enjoy people coming down the slopes

Service is good and prices for a pint of beer can be as low as $2.00. Yes $2.00. Food is ok.

Friendly staff, fast service, but food quality isn’t worth the amount they’re charging. It’s definitely overpriced!

We got enchiladas and the frito pie.
The enchiladas had tough meat and the rice were hard and crunchy. Crunchy rice is yummy in certain occasions but not in this case and definitely not when they’re charging 24 USD for it!
The frito pie was disappointing: small portion and it had a bland flavour.

If you’re going here for food, don’t. The food was below average. No one in my group liked their food. For burgers, they only cook it to the level the chef wants to, which was medium well when my group went. If you ask for it to be cooked differently they will tell you they can’t. The chef also would not cut a burger in half for two people to share it. The waitress was great. She was super attentive and orderly and kind. The drinks people ordered were good although the food was not. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe for outdoor seating is nice because there is live music some evenings. Inside isn’t very nice as far as atmosphere. The kids quesadilla was okay and the rice and beans were not really seasoned.

An Epicurean Adventure at Jose and Crested Butte: A Top 1% Mexican Food Reviewer’s Odyssey.

As a distinguished member of the elite top 1% Mexican food reviewers on Google Maps, my culinary journeys are nothing short of legendary. Upon setting foot in the fabled land of Jose and Crested Butte, my expectations were skyscraper-high. Now, let’s get something straight – I wouldn’t dare utter a syllable of negativity about this establishment. However, my culinary quirks do include a passionate dislike for rice that hasn’t had a steamy affair with black beans, and alas, this was one of those tragic love stories that never began.

The chips at Jose and Crested Butte were a revelation – they were so heavily corned, I felt as though I was embarking on a maize maze adventure with every bite. Diving into the queso was akin to exploring a hidden treasure trove, with chunks of onions and jalapeños as the jewels. It was a spicy, creamy delight that made my taste buds sing mariachi songs.

Then came the chili con carne enchiladas, a dish so visually stunning, it could’ve easily been crowned Miss Universe of Mexican cuisine. Each enchilada strutted its stuff on the plate, flaunting its saucy, meaty excellence with undeniable confidence.

However, my quest for the holy grail led me to the pork carnitas – a dish that promised much but delivered an experience I can only describe as ‘mid’. It was the culinary equivalent of expecting a piñata bursting with exotic candies, only to find it filled with generic store-brand sweets.

In conclusion, my adventure at Jose and Crested Butte was a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with highs that soared into the stratosphere and mids that kept me grounded. It’s a place of culinary contradictions that somehow blends into a memorable dining experience. Would I return? Absolutely – for the thrill of the maize maze chips and the queso treasure hunt alone. 4.5 stars for making my taste buds dance, even if the pork carnitas missed a few steps.

Incredibly overpriced food. Whoever owns this restaurant should be embarrassed. Overpriced garbage. Literally the only thing going for this place is the $2 PBR drafts. The chef should just quit, I would be so embarrassed to have my name on this food.

Went in two different occasions and the staff were very unhelpful and just straight up rude. Also got the steak tacos and it’s just straight up steak with a tortilla.. I’d just go to town. Not worth it other than maybe a drink by the mountain.

I had the barbacoa and it was quite dry. The atmosphere was really nice, but even my husband’s burger wasn’t great. It was too expensive for what it was. The best item we had was fries.
