Lovely long time diner located in Thurston Woods neighborhood. The Hoppel Poppel is excellent, as are the country fried steak and biscuits and gravy. Polishing off an already big, healthy meal, you can’t resist their fresh cinnamon rolls.

So today was pretty awesome. I went to my favorite cafe in Milwaukee, Jo’s on W Silver Springs. It’s an amazing little place where that you won’t find on the best of Milwaukee’s best because I’m pretty sure no one travels to that area of town. It’s been the same crew cooking on the same flat top since I’ve been going there. The cook is always singing Al Green or Stevie Wonder and the waitresses are always smiling and refilling my coffee. The hash browns are the best with cheese and onions and eggs over medium. Today some random couple bought my breakfast and walked out without saying anything. This has happened twice since I’ve been coming there. Fancy is all fine and well but on my last day on earth I hope to eat at Jo’s.

Omelets here are delicious and a great value for restaurant food! Refreshing to get an omelet with a generous amount of fillings compared to the amount of egg! Coffee is also good and kept filled through your stay.
