Normas bread pudding was always my favorite thing to eat. I remembered moving back to Florida and I want my family to taste Normas. When I found out they were closed, I knew I would never find a place like that ever again.

Fast forward now to couple of weeks…I am scrolling through FB and someone commented about bread pudding and Jos and the connection to Normas. I have lived in Pensacola for 6yrs now and never heard of Jos.

Well, I had to go check this place out. The parking lot is very small, so be prepared to park on the street. Its right on the corner of 9th and Wright St.

We walked in to this cute little fancy café style place. The inside was kinda loud and thankfully the weather was amazing, so we sat outside.

The service was amazing….the entire staff were professional and so kind. I am vegetarian and she helped me to figure out what to order and even custom made me a sandwich.

I missed missed my poppyseed dressing….I can drink that stuff. It was so amazing on my salad and fruit. The real test was the bread pudding…OMG!! I finally found my long lost bread pudding.

So many memories of my past came back to life! I highly recommend this place to everyone. Its a great light lunch place…..great place for a girls lunch….babyshower…bridal shower….basically anything!

I am glad I connected to this place and I can not wait to tell everyone that remembers Normas to go try this place out! My new place to eat.

I had been hearing about the chicken salad at Jo’s so my friend and I decided to stop by one day. But first, let me tell you about the atmosphere. The restaurant is located in what I can only describe as an oasis of beauty and tranquility known as DUH. There is also a retail store and furniture store located there. The grounds are reminiscent of maybe a beautiful place in Europe, I just love it. Please make an effort to visit if you’re ever at 9th Ave and Wright St.
The restaurant is small and intimate, with a bar and it’s quite lovely. We were seated quickly, I would recommend a seat in the room to the right as it’s a little removed from the front door and a little more intimate. We started off with cups of really delicious and well seasoned gumbo and I decided to order the salad sampler which consisted of a scoop of chicken salad, tuna and egg salad. It also came with a slice of poppyseed bread that was divine and you can even purchase a whole loaf. The chicken salad was everything I heard about, delicious with just a hint if sweetness from apple chunks. The tuna and egg salads were also first rate. My bestie had a chicken salad sandwich and a side salad and she was very pleased. But, let’s talk about the bread pudding. Ohhhh my, it was Heavenly! It was soft, warm and it melted in my mouth. I had the whiskey sauce and my friend ordered the amaretto sauce and we both ordered extra to go, it’s that good, probably the best I’ve EVER tasted! Don’t pass it up! Service was spot on, we never had to ask for a thing! Jo’s is also a perfect spot for a baby shower or bridal shower, it has a very feminine touch. Do yourself a flavor and gooooo!

I met a friend here for brunch and my God, what a magnificent place! From the tranquility, yummy food, great drinks, to excellent service, this place has it all! The waitress was very helpful, friendly, and had great recommendations. For drinks, I had a watermelon mimosa and a blueberry lemon mule. For appetizer, we shared a Baked Brie (so gooood). And I had to take my Champagne Chicken Salad to go. I will definitely be back soon for more mimosas and walks around the gorgeous garden! I do wish they were open a bit later but I understand why this must stay as an exclusive hidden gem to us locals!

I absolutely LOVED my visit to this place. The environment was so lovely and inviting. All of the staff were super accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed the variety of food available and the attention to detail. We especially enjoyed the bread pudding, strawberry shortcake, and creamy chicken veggie soup. It was super yummy and plated beautifully. This was my first experience and was treated and felt like a regular. I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I’m in the area guaranteed! 12/10 recommend.

I took the girls out for some shopping at one of our favorite places, Duh. Jo’s is a small place located there. This is def not a sports bar but rather more a “ladies” lunch spot. They do have some good light foods but dont go looking for buffalo wings or burgers. Soups, Salads, sandwiches are good. Scenery is very nice. Shady outdoor dining area. Good Service and clean restrooms. They have some drinks in the menu but I do not think they have a full bar. Wine, Beer, Champagne.

We will definitely be going back.

Yum! Not too heavy or light. Pensacola has so many choice places to eat…wow. It would be hard to choose a favorite. We try to eat at a different place wherever we are away from the interstate. Hold on a sec… train going by. What a nice touch.

We ordered the muffalatta with fruit and grilled pimento and cheese (has bits of jalapeno pepper for a little kick). Yum! Grilled pimento was a larger sandwich than I was expecting (very filling, glad I got the fruit). Fruit comes with poppy seed dressing… yes!
Oh… we ordered the bread pudding too. One with the amaretto sauce and one with the whisky sauce. Smooth! Oh my. Has a light sprinkle of coconut flakes toasted into it. Glad I had the coffee. So good.
Thanks to Quarte’ for fine service.
If you’re in south Pensacola and haven’t tried Jo’s… it’s worth the trip.

I found my favorite new cafe. I’ve lived here 5 years and thought this place was too fru fru. The servers are super sweet and the menu is very affordable. I can tell they put a lot of effort into the menu selection, pricing, combinations, and mixed with affordability and value. But it looks super fancy. My wife and I really like our server Onno (sp) and she plahed some really good music just for us as the place filled up fast for lunch.

The menu has great and original sandwich selections with in-house spreads and sauces. Most if not everything is homemade from what I can tell. I never had Orzo and they had a chicken Orzo soup that was awesome. Our sandwich was a cold muffeletta and it was served on french bread. Not typical, but good none the less. We also had fruit with our meal and dessert for $1 more which I thought was very clever combination on the menu.
They do have a great selection of seafood and traditional american fare. All I can say is the menu is fantastic. I really liked this place (can u tell?).

The overall ambiance is that of tuscan bohemian i guess. But whatever it is, I could chill there all day. We sat outside and it was a perfect 72 degrees.
I took a bunch of pics but can’t find them now, but when I do, I will post them.
We’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommended.

Have always enjoyed eating at Jo’s however was a bit perplexed by the purchase today. Ordered the salad sampler, the chicken salad was great, the tuna salad was salty and the egg salad was ok. Poppyseed bread was good however my fruit had mold on it. Since this was a “to go” order no sense in driving it back.

Great little cafe type restaurant! Their amaretto bread pudding is amazing, and this is coming from someone who isn’t really a fan of bread pudding. They basically force you to get a serving, because it’s only $1 extra with a meal. Also, their coffee is really good!

Their sandwich meals come with either fruit, or chips and a pickle. This was something that the menu wasn’t very clear about. We thought you’d get a pickle either way, but if you choose fruit then you don’t get a pickle. A little disappointing.
