We had high expectations for the only Korean-style Chinese restaurant in the west, based on Centerville. It’s not gourmet, but it was a pity that something was missing. It’s not bad, but with a slight improvement, it would be a great restaurant.
I ate the basic jajangmyeon(짜장면) and jjamppong(짬뽕), and the ginger flavor of jajangmyeon seemed to halve the overall taste. The jjamppong doesn’t seem to have enough fire taste. The sweet and sour pork tasted great. I hope you can supplement it a little more and thrive. Lastly, it was nice to have a really kind boss and no scary tips. For those unfamiliar with Korean Chinese cuisine, I think the 2 combo and 3 combo menu would be the best option

As this is my first experience with Korean food, this can’t be a comparative review. The owner described the food as Chinese Style Korean. Im not sure what that means – but maybe you know.

I got the Jap Chae with pork. I’m gluten-free and it is a potato noodle dish so it sounded like a safe bet.

It sure was a tasty bet.

For those that haven’t had them, Potato noodles are long like wheat or egg noodles, but are translucent with a singular texture that is a little gooey. That gooeyness causes them to linger and embrace your tongue in a different way than other noodles. I think it allowed me to savor the flavor (hey – that rhymes) in a more intimate way. I saw the effect on my tongue was like a warm mother’s hug.

The dish came with several additions: soup, rice and a thinly sliced, slightly salty yellow fruit (?) that looked like a lemon but surely was not.

This was a nice departure from my regular visit to various Chinese restaurants. This may have been “Chinese style” – but it was definitely not Chinese.

The restaurant was very clean and well organized. The staff were friendly and helpful and the prices were reasonable.

It’s far and away the best Korean restaurant I’ve ever been to! OK: yes, it’s the only one… But good is good. And this food was definitely that.

I recommend Jongmi Korean Chinese Restaurant To others and I will be back again myself.

I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a Korean Chinese spot in the DMV since they’re usually disappointing… but this place completely changed my mind. The basics *jjajangmyeon and jjampong* were above 5stars. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their main dishes, hopefully with a bigger group so we can try everything.

I went here for dinner with my sister and the area was very lovely and clean. It’s very easy to look at the menu, and many different options to choose from, and the cashier was very friendly to us as well, giving us recommendations and suggestions!

As for food, we ordered spring rolls, dumplings, and honey chicken wiyh fried rice. Everything was amazing, and I enjoyed every bite of it, and I’m very surprised from the large portions of food handed to us, especially the honey chicken, definitely a place I’ll be visiting from time to time!

So far, I’ve tried four dishes. The fried pork (탕수육) was decent, and the seafood noodle soup (짬뽕) was just okay. But the seafood Jaengban Jajang (쟁반짜장) and bulgogi (불고기) were disappointing—the meat was unpleasant, and it honestly killed my appetite. I mean look at the beef! I am not sure what kind of meat they are using but it is very low quality meat for sure. Overall, it wasn’t a good experience, and I wouldn’t go back.

Absolutely loved our experience at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the owner’s warm greeting made us feel right at home. The attention to detail in the presentation and taste of the food was simply outstanding. Every dish was immaculate and bursting with flavor. We can’t wait to return for another delightful dining experience! Five stars all the way.

First, let me say that this place is immaculate! You can literally eat off the floors. Decor is nice, sparse but tasteful. The staff is over the top helpful and attentive and quite helpful without being obtrusive.

The menu is varied with a strong emphasis on traditional Korean fare. Portions are very generous with one dish usually being enough for two to share. But, you’re going to want to sample a few dishes and take some home with you! We had #15. JJA JANG MYUM, a noodle dish with black bean sauce, a side of Kimchi and pickled radishes. It was amazng!! We also had #22 HA MUL JANG BAN JJA JANG, a similar dish with a variety of seafoods and garnishes. It was not only delicious, it was HUGE! And, for once, the actual dishes look very much like their menu items!

At first, prices appear to be moderate. But given the portion sizes, they are quite the bargain.

We’ll be back!!

Generous portion and tasty! Jampong has tons of seafood both mixed seafood and fresh seafood. JJajangmuen has small pieces of pork not the usually ground porks liked other places. Dumplings were homemade. Bimbimbap came with a small bowl of spicy soup instead of miso soup that I usually saw. It spicy soup was good too. Tangsuyuk has chewy breading, not too think or too hard and has a lot of meat. Sauce was a little mild and vegetable were crispy.

Joongmi serves up generous portions, absolutely delicious side dishes, and a beautifully prepared meals. Enjoyed the vegan bibimbap that hit all the right notes. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and clearly made with care. A standout for Korean Chinese cuisine—can’t wait to come back.

The restaurant offered prompt service, and the staff was very friendly. The food was generally tasty; however, as it operates on a self-service basis, patrons are responsible for managing their own utensils and clearing their empty plates.
