The food was pretty good! Their grilled fish was the best, but the shrimp and chips was better than the fish and chips. We ordered to go because we sat in the bar next door and they brought our food to us, which was very nice of them. This way we could enjoy seating by the water and enjoy our drinks while having our lunch!

Was expecting really good food considering how expensive it is. Unfortunately fries were cold and fish was okay, not great but not bad. Service here is very slow. Atmosphere is cool if you’re shopping here but no views.

Good fish, okay chips. Plates are small but portions are big and stacked. The coleslaw can seep into fish/chip area and make food soggy – recommend asking for spare plate. Overall, it was a good experience. Some ocean view if you are sitting in the extended patio area, adding to the atmosphere.

Best fish market I’ve ever been to! We buy lobster, crab, shrimp, smoked salmon, sea bass, and eat here often! We live local and put on an annual seafood boil every Christmas Eve!

Jon’s is a MUST stop for our family ! We have been enjoying this restaurant for over 15+years . The owners and staff are always wonderful. Anything your order is made fresh and comes out hot and perfect !!! You can’t go wrong with any menu items !! We are huge fans of the smoked fish melt sandwich, oh my gosh so yummy ! The claim strips and fish and chips are always a go to !!! Can’t go wrong ! We order fresh fish and the glazed salmon and it’s the best on bagels ! Anything you pick you can’t go wrong ! Enjoy lunch and hop on a whale watching tour and take some goodies from Jon’s home after the boat ride !!!! My favorite place. Enjoy !

This was a great little place to go after going on a whale watching tour. Ww loved the fish and chips. The clam chowder was delicious but it wasn’t very hot. Was hoping for it to be steaming hot as we ate outside on this cool day

We had such a fantastic visit to Jon’s Fish Market in Dana Point! I want to personally thank Ryan, Charles & Grace for their outstanding customer service. They went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome.
Ryan, & Grace took extra time to teach my granddaughter how to properly hold a lobster — she was nervous at first, but with their kind encouragement, she confidently held her very first lobster! After dinner, she was so proud of herself and said she couldn’t wait to do it again.
When a few items from our original order couldn’t be fulfilled, the team didn’t miss a beat — they handled it with genuine care, made things right in multiple thoughtful ways, and ensured we left completely happy.
It’s rare these days to find that level of personal attention and kindness. Thank you, Ryan, Grace, and the whole Jon’s Fish Market team, for turning an ordinary dinner into a special memory for our family! We’ll definitely be back.
