This is definitely one of the best stops for soul food. The food was seasoned very well and the gravy did not taste store bought. I have the beef steak , black-eyes with rice gravy, cabbage. Mannnnnn… and the price was perfect. I also bought sausage and hog head cheese to take home. My wife had the smothered chicken yams, and broccoli rice. WOW!!!! The yams can be as a dessert. We also had the cake and the lemonade is the BEST around since Monceaus out of Port Arthur TX. I recommend this stop.

My dad is 98 years of age. He loves Jones Resturant. However, he went today for turkey wings. He got two pieces of wing tip, no part of flat of the wing and a piece of the drum of the wing. The rice was heated and I got butter beans rather than Lima beans. My Hamhock gravy was watery rather than rich full consistency. Wasted money today.

It wasn’t what I expected. The price was quite high for the quality of food I received. They were out of cornbread, and the roll was a bit moist. The sides were ok, but the chicken needed a bit more seasonings. It looked just like the picture on their home page. No seasoning. I probably would only return for the vegetables. The candied yams were very good. However, the service was good.

Had the fried chicken gravy rice and had to get two sides of yams because everything had pork bacon and sausage in it. Food was ok but not very seasoned and fried chicken should be crispy not soft slick skin. First time going there. Last time going there. Rosie soul food is more season crispy and better, but hey we live and learn..

First time here and I love it! I got the beef tips and it was very good. The serving is plentiful! The collard greens were yummy as well! It’s my favorite side so I got two sides of them It’s a cafeteria style type restaurant as well. It’s a bit pricey but I feel like it’s worth the price and I also like to support locally. Try this place out if you like soul food/comfort food.

Good, fresh soulfood! Have been twice and cleaned our plates both times, even with generous portions! Hubby has tried the fried chicken and the oxtail. Both hit the spot perfectly. I’ve had a veggie plate, and tried the spaghetti as well, and thoroughly enjoyed both! And don’t skip dessert!!!! Worth the extra calories!!!!

We have known Mr Jones for many years when he would turn our deer meat into the most delicious smoked sausage one could ever hope for. Fast forward a few years and he opened a small soul food restaurant in Beaumont, TX. Now, he has a beautiful new restaurant with the best food you could ask for. Today, we had the best fried chicken we’ve ever had, along with amazing sides like mustard greens, rice and gravy, and the absolute best candied yams we’ve ever tasted. We’ve bought sausage from him for many years, but give his restaurant a try and you won’t leave disappointed. Friendly staff, and a beautiful daughter, Gwen, to check you out!
