Small, sibling-run roadside restaurant established in 1970 serving barbecue & a secret recipe sauce.

Went to this place because it is super close to an indoor skatepark that I was at, and I was told it was great food that was featured on the Food Network.
It’s a small building with seating outside. Tons of parking available. We got there around 1:30pm since they close at 3pm. There were a couple customers, but only waited maybe 5 minutes total before I was walking back to my vehicle.
The owners, two sisters, are extremely inviting and nice. One of them asked me if it was my first time eating there, and how my day was going, which made me feel at home. A little kindness goes a LONG way, and these ladies know it! Good people make the best food!
I asked her what her recommendation was, and was given a burnt end sandwich with a choice of 3 sides, I got the beans. I’ve never had a burnt end sandwich, and it was life changing. The BBQ is very sweet with little to no spice, just tons of brown sugar. It was an amazingly good and filling sandwich, and the beans were not bad at all!
The kicker was this meal was a flat $10. I will definitely be coming back every time I go skateboarding, and maybe even when I’m not!
WORTH THE HYPE!!!

I happened to be in KC and had to stop by Jones to try the iconic BBQ place and I was SUPER impressed! First, the service is out of this world friendly. Second, we waited no more than 10 min. And third, the food was EVERYTHING. The baked beans were some of the best I’ve had in my life. That secret BBQ sauce is famous for a reason, I was even pouring it over the french fries. Those sausages were so smooth and flavourful they were delicious too. Total experience surpassed my expectations and I can’t wait to go again next time I’m in KC!

I went here because of the Buzz from Queer Eye, and was not disappointed. The ladies were super sweet and hospitable when taking my order then checking on us in the eating area. The food was prepared fast despite being short staffed. I ordered the sausage, ribs, and potato salad with the best barbeque sauce I’ve ever had in my life. (Immediately ordered more after this meal.) The food was superb and the service was amazing. It was definitely worth the hype and drive.

Super cute BBQ joint! Owners were super nice, wait was 10 minutes tops. Good selection of classic Q. Delicious sauce. Sliced turkey, sliced pork, sliced ham, sliced brisket were our favorites. Solid Q from their heart. Put Jones on your KC Q tour.

Was in town and looked forward the entire planning of the trip to try Jones BBQ. As we arrived we were greeted and waved in like we were family. I ordered the combo platter with the brisket and the sausage with the potato salad. It was absolutely the best bbq I have had in a while! The sweet and tangy sauce that was spread over the meal made it even better! Shorty was so kind to take a picture with us and everyone made sure we had the best experience. I would highly recommend trying it out next time you’re in Kansas City, also tried some of the baked beans and pulled turkey which I would highly recommend. Either way you will not be disappointed.

Finally did it. Definitely see why they sell out most days. Very small BBQ business. Went with a buddy and between us we tried the burnt ends, turkey, pork, ribs and homemade sausage. All were good. Sauce was very flavorful, sweet kind. The BBQ Beans stole the show. Very, Very good. A must try. They had bread n butter pickles in them. If I am in the area for lunch I most definitely will go back. 9-1-2022

Great food and outstanding service. Pulling up to their spot, it didn’t look like much, but wow was the food great. Excellent burnt ends and ribs. This palce should be on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. We’ll be back the next time we’re in the KC area

My 375th ‘cue stop on a 35 state BBQ odyssey (the 19th in Kansas) was disappointing. $15 bought a two meat (ribs, burnt ends) plate with a side of french fries, and a can of Diet Coke. First, the wait. I was sixth in line at 11:13, and the food finally appeared at 11:51. Three customers in line behind me gave up, and took their business elsewhere. As for the food, the burnt ends were dry, tough, and flavorless. After three bites, the rest went in the trash. The heavily sauced ribs didn’t have a bad rub, but they were as far removed from “separating cleanly at the bite” as one could possibly get. A steak knife, which I had with me, turned out to be very much in order. And even the fries turned out to be chewy! From start to finish, this was a one hour and forty minute lunch stop. If you choose to dine here, plan accordingly.
