It wasn’t our first time in this restaurant. We love to stop here whenever we are around the neighborhood.

We order quarter of chicken with baked beans, sweet potatoes fries and corn bread. Texas burger that had pulled pork, bacon and onion rings between the bread. Ribs with coleslaw, sweet potatoes fries and corn bread.

Jo-Max is one of the best BBQ restaurants in Georgia. Everything I’ve ever had has been delicious and fresh. The service is always good and it’s usually busy. The daily specials good.

I was driving thru Metter yesterday on 16 and starving! I asked Siri to show me restaurants nearby and decided to happen upon this place. I went in to place a to go 20 minutes before close and they were packed. I ordered the Jumbo Bbq sandwich, sweet potato fries and fried squash. I had already blown my caloric intake with this order and I spotted the caramel layer cake! OMG I cannot rave about this food enough! It’s probably the best bbq I’ve had in years. The ladies at the counter were so sweet and helpful. As I mentioned they were packed and my food still took less than ten minutes. Not gonna lie I’m literally savoring this cake and breaking off a little piece a day. See you guys when I come back thru in a couple weeks! Definitely going to be my new pit stop between Savannah and Macon. ❤️

Ribs were small and under seasoned. Not much smoke in the chopped brisket. Excellent limas. Brunswick Stew was on the sweet side.

Stopped for lunch. Very busy. Great prices. The food was good. The fried green tomatoes were excellent. I had the combo plate with ribs & brisket chopped, as they were out of space. The ribs were delicious, but the chopped brisket was disappointing–it was a lot of fat and gristle. The sides were good. I’d go back but not get chopped brisket.

Great special today! I had Grilled Cheese and Loaded Potato Soup. Wonderful taste combination. This location is highly recommended for anyone in the area. If you are passing by, drop in and give them a try!

Back home southern style breakfast.if you don’t now you now.lets start with the grilled biscuits and gravy.someone in that kitchen need to be arrested for food this good.the grits were perfect the right consistency not runny or too thickwith the right amount of cheese. The bacon well again crispy cooked to personal liking. If you ever driving up are down I-16 stop at Jomax BBQ for breakfast. You want regret it.
