Finally was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to experience Johnson’s! They’re only open 10-2pm on Saturdays. Burger was the best I’ve had in awhile. They don’t have bacon or pickles in case that is a deal breaker, but it isn’t for me. I got my cheeseburger with just mayo, ketchup and mustard. They handpatty their burgers, and the meat was hanging outside the bun. Cheese was perfectly melted, and the soft bun made for a top-notch burger. Fries were the larger, straight style, but also delicious. Orders are made lwhen placed, so no stale old food sitting around. The seating inside is limited, but you can still order online for pickup, which tons of customers did while I was there. The staff is super friendly and interacted and laughed with us. Now that I know it lives up to the fame, I will go again during the magical time when the portal opens!

We got there around 2 pm on a Saturday and only had the option of ordering to go, (even though there were at least dozen patrons seated inside). The order was made …. one burger with regular fries and 2 cans of Pepsi cola … $14 bucks.

Great hamburgers. And fries. Only thing I would suggest more cooks. Crowded in seating area. Needs to expand in building. A little bit warm. Ac seems like it could not keep up with heat load in building.

Never come here unless you have 2+ hours to eat at burger. They only cook 12 Patties at once and prioritize to go orders! Beyond ridiculous and will never go back. You pay extra for refills! Overpriced! Go to Chris’ Drive In instead. Speaking as a local.

This is an amazing family owned restaurant that has been around for at least 40 years. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and efficient based on the size of their kitchen and orders that come in. You can eat in in their glass area or make a take out order. Your Food is not cooked into you order it so if you’re taking the food to go plan to wait a few minutes. But the owner will talk to you and make it a pleasant experience. It’s worth getting off the road for a few minutes to have this experience of a North Carolina classic.

Johnson’s is a local institution, take a step through the door and back to a simpler time. Have a seat at the lunch counter and a cold Pepsi and enjoy watching your burger get made from the freshest ingredients. Get there early because once they sell all the burgers they are done for the day. Truly a great experience.

Very small diner, good food, small menu selection, slow & Cash only. If a sign was posted I didn’t see it but all the regulars new cash only. So if you are passing through don’t stop if you don’t have cash.

Awesome old time diner with a countertop that seats about 12. There is usually always a wait however if you order online it’s super easy. The burgers are amazing and when they run out of meat they close. Only open for lunch. Burgers, Hot Dogs, Grilled Cheese and L&T Sandwich…..btw, Cheeseburgers are $5.50

A local legend, never open when we pass by until today. Cyndi described it as stepping into a time machine. Fresh ingredients prepared right in front of you. 12 burgers at a time on the grill. Big slabs of cheese cut individually.

That has to be one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever eaten. The beef had a little crust on it and the cheese put it over the top. The FF were hot when they got to the table. Unbelievable!
