I am someone who regularly is on an endless search for a good burger outside of major food chains ie (In-n-out, Five Guys, Fat Burger etc..) I believe a good greasy spoon restaurant will take the effort in crafting a good “tasty” burger. John’s failed at doing this.
My family and I visited John’s yesterday and the staff was very nice, the place was clean and we arrived a little after the lunch rush. I asked for a burger suggestion and the cashier suggest the “Super Burger” it’s picture is literally on the ceiling. A 10oz Patty with America and Swiss Cheese, two tomatoes red onion mayo, lettuce, ketchup and pickles. I was excited until I had my first bite…
THE GOOD:
Hand formed 10oz Beef patty (mist likely sirloin)
It all “looked” good.
THE PROBLEM:
It tasted exactly like it’s description. 10oz Beef Patty, cheese lettuce etc. There was no hint of seasoning anywhere near this Patty No salt No Pepper just meat lettuce cheese tomatoes blah blah. Season your meat! People don’t just want a ground sirloin patty surrounded by cheese and a garden of oversized veggies. I didn’t even finish my burger.
Also, the fries were cold, burger wasn’t very hot. The soda was the item with the most flavor.
Additionally, my wife ordered the Carne asada West burrito which looked promising however, salt was missing from the meal. My son loved his kids meal…lol
By the way there is only 1 real SUPER BURGER and it’s not found here…
