So after being open a week I figured out was time to try this. On a Friday afternoon, after 2, hoping it would not be busy. For the most part I was right, they did have over 70 customers but because of the size of the seating area it was not bad at all! They were even staffed very well! Our server only had 6 tables in her section. They had a runner for the kitchen so there was no lag at all getting the hot food to the tables. Bar was staffed well too! I had the Pork Tenderloin and it was very good. My second favorite in town, and I’ve tried 10 different ones locally. Fries were good and hot, the onion rings were hot and okay. I guess I redirected fresh cut potatoes and fresh cut onions….. my friend had the Jambalaya with shrimp and he liked it all. It was a lot thicker than I expected. Good sausage, good bar, and good sized shrimp. I did have the Blue Collar Lager, which is their special beer, it was a good lager! We enjoyed more than 1! Thicker, smoother, and richer than AB’s red label lager. All in all i give it an 8ish!

We had such a great experience at Johnny’s Tavern! The buffalo chicken dip was hands down the best I’ve ever had… honestly better than I can even make at home. Creamy, flavorful, and absolutely addictive.
We also ordered the cauliflower and Brussels sprouts appetizer, and it was fantastic. Perfectly cooked with amazing flavor… again, better than anything I could make myself.
But as great as the food was, even better than everything was our waitress, Alexis. She was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Service like that makes all the difference.
We will definitely be back again!

This place just opened week or so ago. Me being a KU alumni, I had to go check it out. I will say it was solid. Good food, decent prices, and they did a great job with the layout/decor. This will be a go-to place to watch a game!

Grand opening was handled very well, seated quickly, food and drinks came out fast, servers were attentive, and proactive. Presentation was clean, wings were delicious and the burger was cooked perfectly, a bit on the salty side. Don’t sleep on the fruit and walnut medley, it’s as great side if you’re looking for something on the healthy side. Atmosphere was nice, kept the spirit of the old building alive with modern touches. Plenty of tvs everywhere, probably would be a great place to watch big games with friends.

Me and two other friends decided to try this place out. First off, atmosphere…too many TVs. Definitely lost the charm of The Anchor. Also, they decided to not go in on having a lot of craft beer options, huge bummer. Service was great though. Constantly being asked if everything was okay and filling our drinks. The food though? Incredibly lackluster. The biggest problem was all of our food was over salted. I ordered a smash burger and so did one of my friends and the entire burger was a salt bomb. It would have actually been a really solid burger if they didn’t coat it in salt. My friends Nashville hot chicken sandwich was also salty. I’m still recovering from my lunch.

Went to Johnny’s in Wichita for the first time last night. We were greeted and seated quickly and received our drinks within about 3 minutes (and it was busy). The food was delicious (the best burger I’ve had in a long time). Our server was amazing and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be going back soon. If I had to give one complaint, it would be the lack of parking, but the food and service more than made up for the walk. I highly recommend this Johnny’s.

Fantastic food and an unbeatable atmosphere! This is exactly what you want in a sports bar. Every seat has a clear view of a TV, so you never miss a moment of the action. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back again!
