Order and pay first at counter. Find an empty table, get your drink from the back and enjoy.
Very busy at lunch, but we didn’t have to wait.

Good ole’ southern cooking! Fried catfish was the best I have ever had, the mac n cheese was up there, too! Stopped while in the area and I’m so happy that I did! If you’re thinking about trying this place out, do yourself a favor and go! (;

I was skeptical …It melted away like butter with each & every bite .The food was very good .I ordered the chicken pot pie .Perfect crust ..More veggies would have been good but it was packed with crazy chicken & very seasoned.The Mac n cheese was good & I loved the butter beans ..The cornbread muffins have actual corn baked inside ..I’m a big food critic so if I say it’s GOOD trust me it’s on point …I wish I had room for a dessert but instead my greedy self had the fried green tomatoes which were also delicious.crispy edges just how I like it .The staff were very friendly & helpful …I will definitely be back to try other foods y’all cooking up in that kitchen !! ..Thx for a pleasant ,fulfilling experience!

Johnny’s Restaurant is a fantastic spot for a hearty, Southern-style meal! I had the pot roast, collard greens, and Creole red beans for lunch, and every bite was amazing. The pot roast was tender and full of rich flavor, while the collard greens were perfectly seasoned. The Creole red beans added a nice kick and depth to the meal, balancing everything out wonderfully. The portions were generous, and the food tasted homemade in the best possible way. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere made it an all-around great experience. Highly recommend Johnny’s if you’re looking for comfort food done right.

This was my first time eating here and I chose the lunch time rush. There was only a short line and when I got to the counter the staff were welcoming and took time to answer my questions. I was a little concerned that we would not find a table, but another staff member directed us to a table that had become available. The food was brought out and I instantly knew why this place was so popular. The hamburger steak was cooked just right with the right amount of seasoning smothered with onions and brown gravy. The collard greens were fresh and the fried green tomatoes were crispy. Loved the area surrounding this location and am eager to return again for another visit. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Things were too salty. Hamburger steak with gravy and Mac n cheese in particular. They rang in and delivered something I didn’t order. I had a bit of a time getting that fixed. I had sweet potato souffle and it wasn’t that sweet, like I’d expected. I put some Splenda in and it was better.
Three things that were good were the blackeyed peas (they cook these with bay leaves. I know because I had a whole one in my bowl), peanut/chocolate dessert and the rolls. Nice big, fat rolls, very fluffy and yummy.
My husband had the the Greek meatballs. He said they were rather bland. The sauce they served with them helped but they should have been good all by themselves.
There is no seat saving. They have a sign up about it. However, I see both sides of the coin. Owners don’t want tables filled up by people waiting on parties to meet them. On the diners side, if there’s an open table, and you send one person to order, what’s the harm?
Overall, I’m giving it a three stars due to the seasoning and honestly, portions size. At $16.00 for a meat and three, I felt it somewhat overpriced.

They know what’s vegetarian and what’s vegan. Parmigiana grits was one of the most sumptuous things I had in a long time. Greens, green fried tomatoes, and corn bread were good, but the spinach and chickpeas tasted strange. All my companions tasted them and nobody could figure out why they tasted off putting. I asked and got the answer that the kitchen doesn’t share all their secrets.
The service was as nice as can be.

Had a wonderful meal here and would highly recommend. The staff were so kind and helpful, talking us through the menu. We ordered lots of different side which were all amazing especially the fried green tomatoes and Mac and cheese. The post roast and fried catfish were delicious. One of the highlights of our trip!

I wanted to try it all but went with the Greek meatballs because I thought that was the most unique. They had too much mint for my liking but were still good. The gritcake (which is also super unique) was the star of the show for me. The Mac and cheese was also good. All in all, a phenomenal meat n three that I’d love to visit again.

Great local comfort food joint with food that lives up to all its many nominations and awards. Was busy on Sunday at noon, but not a long a line and had no trouble finding a table. Staff was friendly and didn’t mind answering questions. Ordered meatloaf w/ macaroni, grit cake, & creole red beans; hamburger steak w/ macaroni & sweet potatoes; and the chocolate peanut butter torte. It was all fantastic, with the macaroni, red beans, and torte being particular standouts. Menu does change, especially with what deserts are available, so don’t rely too much on the pictures here.
