The food was amazing. There are several waffle choices as well as pastas, salmon and gritts etc. The service was exceptional, with very attentive staff. I sat on the patio, as the music is loud inside. The DJ was on fire! Fun, high energy, urban, delicious and I can’t wait to retrip.

Everything was wonderful from the vibe to the service to the food and definitely the drinks. I had strawberry lemonade but Hubby had the Neyo Strawberry Lemonade. He also had fish and waffle fries that were piping hot and fresh! I had stuffed French toast that came with a sugar cone full of cream cheese heavy! The bacon, wings, eggs, and breakfast potatoes were fire! I give it a 5 out of 5! Our server Celeste was fantastic!!! If you are ever in Dallas Texas try Johnnie’s Chicken and Waffles! You will be more than pleased! I mean it was a hit all the way around!!!

This was my first time at Johnny’s Chicken and Waffles, and they absolutely killed it! From the moment we walked in, the host was extremely kind and welcoming, which set the tone for the whole visit. The service was amazing, the food was amazing — literally everything was on point.
Our server, Donyea, truly made the experience memorable. He made us feel welcomed from the start and took great care of us the entire time. We were a little skeptical when he didn’t write our order down, but when the food came out perfect, we were blown away. The mashed potatoes were chef’s kiss, and the mimosas were really good too!
First impressions are everything to me, and Johnny’s delivered in every way. Definitely recommend — I’ll for sure be coming back!

First time visiting for painting and jazz night which was very nice. Service was good. Everyone was pleasant. Servings were nicely portioned from what I could see! Small and intimate size. Drinks were fine but a little pricey. I paid 26 dollars for 2 sangrias. I didnt order any food however, looking around us, I would go back to try a couple dishes.

I’ll start with, I will definitely be back. First off we came around 5:30PM on Thursday and it wasn’t packed, so I was super happy about that. Kerrigan was our server, ugh I hate that term. Let’s call her our table attendant. She was extremely friendly, patient, and attentive the entire time we were there. Great job on customer service and also knowledgeable about the menu and what she sees ordered the most vs what she’s personally tried. I’d definitely give her a 5 star rating for service.
Food: I ordered the chicken and pecan waffle. The waffle gave all it could give and the butter was perfect for spreading. The chicken contributed to lessening from 5 stars. It was seasoned to perfection, and hot, where I saw the steam coming off it when I cut a piece off. However it was either old grease or what have you that had it fried super dark and a bit hard on the exterior. My husband and friend each ordered the Royal Treatment Mac n Cheese. One did shrimp the other chicken. The chicken was the same as mine. Dark and a bit harder fry. The shrimp, after tasting the chicken wasn’t as flavorful to me. The Mac n cheese came in a skillet but wasn’t hot. We could hold the skillet in our hands and it was cool to the touch. The taste of the Mac you can tell the potential to be amazing was there.
Now the manager, Dan. Dan is the man! He too gets 5 stars in my book. He listened objectively to what we said about the food, and offered to remake everything, he was just as courteous and respectful as Kerrigan. He wouldn’t take no for an answer when I declined to have more chicken, since I was taking half a waffle home. So I accepted but told him I’d for sure would be back.
Drinks: I was basic and got a beer lol. But my dinner mates both agreed that the bartender makes well balanced and delicious cocktails. One got a LIT and the other a frozen lemon drop. The frozen lemon drop I stole a sip, and it was smooth without that bite you can sometimes get with lemon type drinks.
If you’ve read this far: I would definitely recommend this place for a date night, friend meet up etc. The entire place is a vibe and the music! Whew it was a whole experience.
Oh my only suggestion to the owners: Everywhere inside and out on the patio the atmosphere is amazing and the effort is noticeable in the decor, except the restrooms. It was like walking into a place that didn’t match at all lol. Change the wallpaper or paint the tiles, something. Put a chicken picture in there, anything would be better than tan and white tiles on the walls.

Overall good first time experience! Services was great, food was good… the drinks were overpriced (in my opinion) and 18% service charge is added to the bill but they do have signs to remind you of that (no biggie)… they also had a live “DJ” the night we went (Saturday) and it was a kinda loud… not a place to have an intimate conversation and meal.

This place is truly phenomenal. I am visiting from New Orleans and got recommended this place. It did not disappoint at all!! The waffle was so soft and paired with the cream cheese it melts away in your mouth. The chicken tenders were just the right amount of crispy and perfectly seasoned.

No complaints… Service is awesome, waitress was attentive. Food came out way faster than we expected. The mac and cheese was some of the best that I have had. The chicken was very seasoned and fried to perfection. Drinks were strong. Will definitely recommend and visit again soon.

Came here for brunch on a Friday around noon. Not busy not crowded. Good music although it was too loud. I feel like they should have the music playing in the background softly. The guy seating people at the front door was also bringing out food and taking orders at tables. He was moving around fast. Food came out fast but drinks i.e. alcohol was slow. We only ordered a mimosa and a espresso martini. The bartender lady was taking shots while over there so not sure if she was moving slow because she was drunk or if she was new because there wasn’t a lot of people there at all. Our server was nice and accommodating. We sat on the booth side of the table by the duck picture and there was lots of chicken or fish crumbs on the seat when we were seated I grabbed a paper towel off a nearby table and cleaned the seat off before sitting. I ordered the catfish over grits with a side of shrimp my husband ordered a salmon BBL with grits on the side. He enjoyed his burger although he wished that they added more aioli sauce on it to make it wetter it was ketchup amount on the bun. He also wished the salmon had a bit more salt for seasoning. He ordered his espresso with a cognac base instead of vodka because that’s nasty . My fish and grits with side of shrimp was good I did need to add sugar to the grits because if you know you know. I hate the parking lot it’s so much debris that can flatten your tires from broken glass to crack needles. I don’t think I’d ever visit this place or area at night because it feels sketchy especially with the needle situation in the parking lot I seen about three. 1.20.2026
