At Johnny Mo’s Pizzeria, every slice tells a story. The New York style pizza, with its signature thin crust, transports you to the bustling streets of the Big Apple. Each bite crackles with authenticity as tangy sauce and melty cheese blend in a dance of flavors. On the other hand, our Chicago deep dish is a delightful expedition into the heart of the Midwest. Its thick, buttery crust cradles layers of rich toppings and gooey cheese, creating a symphony of taste. Whether you lean towards New York’s elegance or Chicago’s heartiness, at Johnny Mo’s, you’re not just eating pizza – you’re embarking on a culinary journey. Why Choose When You Can Have Both!

New York- or Chicago-style pies, plus pastas, sandwiches & drinks in a funky, brick-walled space.

Swung by Johnny Mo’s on a beautiful Saturday while walking through the area. The restaurant was large and well setup with a much more varied menu than I expected. I appreciated that pizzas could be done in a personal size. The pizza option I had was pretty good overall – not my favorite in the city but good enough for me to want to come back and try other styles.

Solid enough pizza, definitely on the pricey side though. Total incl tip was a little under 50 for a large 18”. Tried whatever the one with hot honey is. Water glasses and plates were a little dirty so we used the napkins to clean off. Waiters were nice

The prosciutto and arugula salad was a major highlight for us. We got the Thunderbird pizza and also we immediately ordered a Chicago style pizza when we sat down. The sauce in the Chicago was super fresh, I guess I prefer the crust on a NY pizza more than the “pie crust” style of the Chicago, that’s more my own personal preference.

1/11/26 Update: the owner was very kind and I gave them another shot. Placed an online order and the pizza was great. Precious experience seems to be a one off. Rate this place 4.5/5, only thing is that parking is difficult in the area and traffic gets backed up

Used to love this place, but got a hot honey deep dish to go. Didn’t check it till I got home and it’s burnt, the crust is really hard, missing the hot honey, and overall a sad experience.

Parking is also tough in the area, but friendly staff

I want to call this a little neighborhood pizza place because most people who go there must walk there (not much parking around), and it really gives that vibe except that it’s the intersection between two semi busy streets. It’s right off of the University Bridge, so close to the water. They have 6-7 “regular” tables, some high top tables in the bar and then outside seating on two sides. They have BOTH Chicago and NY style pizza. We had a super thin gluten free pizza. It was delicious. We left full and very happy. We didn’t even have to get a salad because the top of our pizza was covered in arugula. Our server was great, even though I’m pretty sure she was taking care of the entire restaurant. The menu was big and had something for everybody. The meatballs were huge and a good appetizer to share. My only regret is that I didn’t have room for dessert.

We’ve been going to JM’s for a few years with our daughter who just turned 4 on the date of this review. We order a NY pepperoni and a Ditka (for myself) and we usually get salad, tiramisu/cannoli’s. AMAZING food, service, atmosphere in person always. Never had ordered out. Long story of why but we ordered a “timed delivery” via toast/uber for her birthday party at home – and closer to party time I notice the uber delivery time is climbing 20, 30, 40+ minutes. Figure it might be a fluke but reach out and restaurant immediately is like, we got this, let us fix it, don’t worry about it. Get a call back immediately and the restaurant solves delivery exactly on time, above and beyond what is a complicated situation for the business.

Long way of saying, we’re already believers/customers for life before this. The food and service for in person is amazing. There’s a bit of a wild card for businesses supporting third party delivery, it obviously helps reach their customers but can throw curveballs – Johnny Mo’s has an exemplary level of commitment to solving these things.

If you haven’t had the deep dish and/or the new york, its great. I’m from Chicago and I love New York style. There’s a lot of great pizza, not a tremendous amount of great pizza in Seattle, and JM’s is one of my go-to’s. To have it be family/kid friendly, always able to snag a table or reservation and have amazing food/staff/service… rare thing. Great drinks, fantastic desserts.

Disappointment was the theme of this “hybrid” pizza joint. Johnny Mo’s claims to have the best of both worlds- true Chicago pies and NY style. I ordered a veggie Chicago and it came out nothing less than an insult to the style. It’s one layer of dough shoved into a pan with toppings, way too much sauce, and rubber cheese mounded on top. Most of the toppings were on one half and it barely filled half the height of the pan. The crust was tasteless and inedible around the edges. I also had the garlic knots which didn’t dazzle in the least as they were overdone. Service was slow as they only had one person bartending and serving. I hope the partner that passed away wasn’t the Chicago half and they didn’t have to witness this mess.

The place is full of lovely staff and you feel it the way they pour out their attention on you! Though the place was packed but still everyone’s presence was appreciated!
We ordered a big Veggie pizza, it was gluten free and had the thinnest crust and tasted yummm!
The ginger breadsticks are tasty too which I accompanied with my mocktail
The best thing is if you sit in the patio you can have a glimpse of mountains, water and the soothing sunset ️
Place is worth a visit!

I really enjoyed the Chicago pizza I had at Johnny Mo’s. The crust was the right consistency and the sauce was very well balanced. They also have a full bar and a decent beer selection. There’s a lot of the menu that I wish I’d tried but I was alone. Pizza was great, and service was great as well—friendly and chatty staff. Definitely recommended when you’re hungry for pizza in Seattle.

Great little place in Eastlake! Can’t say anything about the Chicago style pizza, but their NY style is definitely worth a try! The cheese bread is lackluster. Dough and flavor are fine, but the lack of cheese really does it in for me. Skip it if you’re a true cheese lover. The neighborhood ambiance is worth it all by itself if all you want is to have some drinks and enjoy some ‘za!
