Wow!!! Before I give my review let me say that I am a pretty critical person so keep that in mind. But, seriously, this place was great. Folks at my table had pork, brisket and smoked chicken. All three of these were very good. There was just a tiny bit of extra fat on the brisket but I’m not enough of a brisket expert to know how it could be improved, in fact it is likely that extra bit of fat help make it so tender and good. My smoked chicken had a perfect dark brown skin with pink, from the smoking, chicken underneath it that pulled off the bone with a light touch. Green beans were good. Brunswick stew was good. Only side that was so-so was the mac and cheese but it was still acceptable. Service was very good even though they were busy. I recommend this BBQ place if you are ever in the Cartersville area.

The food was great, the service good, so why only 2 stars? The portions were tiny. I felt like I was in one of those high and mighty 5 star restaurants that serve you a small square of food with a bunch of sauce dribbled around the plate. I ordered the beef brisket, which was perfectly smoked, tender, juicy and delicious…but there wasn’t enough meat to even make a small sandwich. My wife’s plate was the same way. Even the sides were small portions. Not what you expect at a barbeque joint.

This place is absolutely awesome! I felt as though the bbq was a little dry and I like more rub flavor personally but that is where my negative feedback ends. The sweet bbq sauce is very unique and I love it. The garlic home fries are sliced potatoes with cheese garlic and a lil something special that puts it on par with the best. The onion petals were tasty and come with the sauce like outback gives you. The Mac n cheese tastes largely cream based with cheddar sprinkled on top, it coulda used more cheddar IMHO but it’s much better than using fake cheese. The blackened shrimp is spicy and Cajon seasoned, absolutely delicious. Toast is buttered to the max and if I had to guess it’s cooked in a skillet which makes it very tasty. The coke cake is out of this world yummy and I don’t even really like cake. Interior is country and could be better but no big deal. Met johnnie and he is an awesome guy. Support this business!

It’s been almost a year since my husband & I visited Johnny’s Mitchell’s in Euharlee. We’ve been going to this restaurant since they first opened. We’ve always considered this restaurant to be one of our favorite’s and considered “Johnny Mitchell’s” to be a “hidden treasure” out here in Euharlee. But’s that no longer the case. The food was COLD & did not have a good flavor. It was simply okay. Not BAD, but not GOOD either. This restaurant no longer gives it’s patron’s full service (which is not necessarily a bad thing), but I draw the line with styrofoam plates & plastic utensils. They’ve taken all the “charm” out. Unfortunately, we don’t see ourselves ever going back again.

Tried something unique at Johnny Mitchell’s – a brisket reuben. Now if you’re going to be a purist and say a reuben can only be one way, then this isn’t for you because it doesn’t try to be a “traditional” reuben. But if you go at it with open mind and open taste buds, you’ll be treated to a delicious sandwich that just may convince you to try something a little different more often. Check it out on your next lunch adventure trip.

Location was nice but now it’s closed for good I think. Last time did was terrible. Bbq was burned and not good. No wonder it was pretty empty.
