Tried Johnny Grits today — a true mom-and-pop breakfast/lunch spot with a welcoming vibe. The staff was super friendly and even though the place was packed, the wait moved faster than expected.
Food highlights:
• The Rooster was delicious — definitely recommend.
• Chicken & waffles were great too, nice balance of sweet and savory.
• The Miami’s was decent, but I think it would’ve been better with less orange juice.
• The traditional 2/2/2 was the only letdown — portion size was pretty small.
They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice plus on a good day. Overall, solid neighborhood breakfast spot worth checking out!

We were looking for a local hidden gem and this place nails it. Although it’s not so “hidden” given what appeared to be quite a crowd of regulars. Food was amazing and the service was superb. Owners seemed to know everyone who walked through the door, which says a lot about this place. Will definitely be back.

We walked in for breakfast and were seated quickly. Coffee and juice was good. I got the protein burrito and my wife got the fitness breakfast. Both were very good and came with a side of fruit. The manager was active with customers and the staff was snappy. I saw him give a couple orders, but no one was waiting for anything. They were all moving and keeping refills coming. Excellent service and food. I’m not sure about vegetarian or vegan, but several healthy choices. Highly recommended.

Stopped in for quick breakfast. Food was good, plenty to choose from. Started with French Toast bites. Benedict was good but a lot of food. I would try again.

We had a fantastic experience! My husband and I were pretty bummed we didn’t get to go away for our anniversary weekend this year. But wanted to eat somewhere special with our kids so we came here for breakfast. The food was delicious! Every dish was cooked perfectly. The prices were reasonable and the service was so friendly. The server heard it was our anniversary and brought us complimentary mamosas! Our kids spilled some water and they were so kind and got it cleaned up for us. Their banana bread french toast is the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I can’t believe it took us this long to discover this hidden gem. We will definitely be back to try more dishes and bring our family and friends! Thank you for making our anniversary so special!

I absolutely love breakfast…favorite meal for me. I came across Johnny Grits where they serve bfast all day. I am so glad I can add this restaurant to my “go to” places.
Looking at the menu made me want to order everything. There was so much to choose. I needed up getting their 2/2/2 Traditional platter but also got their Little SOB (biscuit & gravy). Everything was delicious. The biscuits & gravy was probably the best I have ever eaten. Superb flavor.
I was surprised not too many people were here at 8:30 am but perhaps it is because the location is in a small strip mall. The inside was very clean. I believe this establishment is owned by people of faith, for they had several pictures hanging up reflecting these values. For me, that was great to see.
Overall, I do not have one bad thing to say about this place. So happy I can add this to my list. I am looking forward to trying their avocado toast next time. It sounds heavenly.
PS—non chains, aka local restaurants, need more support from us. Go, you will not be regret it.

I have wanted to try this place for a year and I finally made it today. Wow! I was immediately impressed by the hospitality (Tim the new owner was very personable and professional). I ordered the “Grit’s Benedict bowl” and my friend ordered the SOB (biscuit and gravy). My mouth literally exploded with the incredible flavors in the bowl. My friend the SOB was also one of the best he ever had. Prices were reasonable too.
I will be back!

We recently had breakfast here and we were both very impressed. Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. The service truly added to the experience.
I ordered two eggs, bacon and pancakes and everything was cooked perfectly. My wife had a veggie omelette that she said was fresh and exactly what she hoped for. The food was delicious, well prepared and clearly made with care.
We both left talking about how much we enjoyed our meal. We are looking forward to trying them for lunch soon.
