Atmosphere needs 6-Stars! If you love the 1950’s Diner Life – Poodle skirt skidattle down here and shimmy up a plate. It took 10 seconds to get a table and 8 minutes to get our food from the time of ordering it. I got the waffle & eggs with turkey sausage. The strawberries, bananas and whip cream made it extra delicious. I’m leaving this review later in the day while eating the left overs… and man, it’s good while cold too! I’m just in a hurry or I’d great it up in the toaster oven. I didn’t need any syrup on my waffle. They have some much flavor already as is. They give a tall glass of water and i asked for a lemon wedge. Music playing and a lot of cool stuff to look at all over. If you are interested in a six foot statute of Elvis Presley, they have one here right at the front. They have a lot of desserts to choose from. The place was filled up and a lot of people coming in to what i think was pick up orders. I enjoyed my food and it looked that way for everybody else – So, make this place a must of you like good food and a 1950’s feel diner. They have been open for decades for a reason.

I recently visited Johnny Angel’s Diner on St. Johns Bluff Rd for a casual lunch, and it was a pleasant experience. The diner has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
I tried one of their classic diner sandwiches, and it was tasty and well-prepared. The portions were generous, and everything felt fresh and made to order. The atmosphere was relaxed, making it easy to enjoy a meal without feeling rushed.
Overall, it’s a solid spot for a simple, satisfying meal. I’d stop by again when I’m in the area and want a reliable, no-fuss diner experience.

The decor is very cool and the servers are very friendly. They are super overworked though.. there’s always food sat in the window of the kitchen waiting to go out.. sometimes as many as 5 plates.. sat getting cold. They need some help, they just can’t get through it all. Means your food does turn up a little less fresh then it could and there is a rushed feeling.

Decent food. Basically $20per person for breakfast eeesh. Breakfast potatoes in the fryer … But at least it was clean oil. Coffee was typical American diner coffee (I prefer bold and rich). English muffin was warmed, not toasted. It was fine though.

Fantastic place with the throwback nostalgia. Got there at a great time when not busy. Waitress was friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere was filled with oldies songs and a TV playing old wholesome shows. We had the Joey’s burger and the Philly burger. Added a cup of chili with onions and cheese. Strawberry shake to top it off. They serve Pepsi products, tea and lemonade. Breakfast all day and a fabulous menu. Service was fast and everything was cooked fresh. Must go visit place!

What a fun 50’s retro throwback place to go! My friend and I went for brunch. The server was super nice and helpful, We both got the eggs benedict. It took a few minutes to get there, but we were having fun looking at all the cool decor. Server was great to keeps drinks refilled and see if we needed anything. The eggs bene was 2 large ones with eggs perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, the hollandiase was obviously canned or jarred; not totally bad, but not fresh made. There were a ton of well cooked house potatoes and more of everything than we could eat. Super fun place, I’ll be back!

I stopped by Johnny Angel’s Diner this morning for breakfast and loved the experience. The place has a full-on 1950s vibe, really fun atmosphere. I got there early and was glad I did, because people started pouring in right after I ordered.
The staff was super friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. My breakfast was excellent, the homemade biscuit was grilled to perfection and the bacon was nice and crisp.
Great food, great price, and great vibes. I’ll definitely be going back!

If you want to feel like you’ve stepped straight into the 1950s while still in 2025 Jacksonville, this is the spot to visit. The restaurant is packed with retro memorabilia, and the waitresses bring the nostalgic vibe to life right down to serving classic root beer floats. The food is just as impressive: I tried the Captain Crunch French toast topped with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and graham cracker crumbles absolutely delicious. A fun, unique experience all around!

Great service, food was absolutely amazing I love all of the memorabilia on the walls! We were actually with a star that was on the wall and that’s where he wanted to eat! No regrets!

Nothing to complain about here. Food tasted like the cook liked his job and well worth the price. Service is quick and friendly. Will take the Madre here sometime soon.
