I love this tavern. Its comfortable and the bartenders are very nice. I live in Essex county but worked in the area till I retired. The drive up for me is no problem to meet up with coworkers and friends. The clientel are very nice the food is good and the drinks are reasonably priced. It is your typical neighborhood bar. Thank you for such an enjoyable evening.

My girlfriend and I (30 years old) were denied service here, allegedly for having out of state IDs. To echo a previous review, it felt racially motivated. She was the only person of color in the bar. Almost exclusively men there and all white people except for the bouncer. I wouldn’t suggest going here unless you’re a local white man or you’re with one. Also it smelled weird. 0/5

absolutely awful experience. came here with my boyfriend for thanksgiving eve and he’s from PA so they didn’t accept him to come in. No out of state IDs allowed don’t even bother coming here. When they literally allowed under age kids in how insane they wouldn’t let a 22 yo from PA in. Old men in the front were so rude when we asked why they just kept yelling he wasn’t allowed in. Literally don’t come here.

Tried to go on Thanksgiving eve with my gf and friends and I got denied because I am from PA. When I gave them my id they denied me and were very rude about it. I tried to show my PA concealed carry permit and they were rude yet again. They were rude the whole time and didn’t let me show any other forms of proof. Disappointing way to treat people on thanksgiving eve .

Went to this establishment on a Saturday afternoon and was told “we don’t accept out of towners” after showing my ID. It felt racially motivated, as I was the only person of color. I didn’t feel welcome at all and had to literally ask for assistance as everyone around me was being attended to. Terrible place. Wish I could give it 0 stars.

Best Bar in North Jersey by far. The ownership/bartenders/patrons are all great. Phenomenal bar pies and awesome hot dogs!! Highly recommended! If you’re close by, stop in for a bar-pie & beer!
