My family and I have been there many times over the years. Especially a fave for special occasions for me and the wife. Love the Italian atmosphere and vibes. The 2 for $25 menu (not on certain holidays) is great and it’s hard not to find something good. Its a 4 course meal. The soup/salad is awesome as is the pasra mista(first 2 courses). The veal/chicken parm is great and you get plenty. The ice cream is an amazing finish. Always seating and good service. It truly is a hidden gem and so worth the money. I give it 4 1/2 STARS for real. GO BIRDS

I went with my bf for the Valentine’s Day menu, and we were more than pleased with everything! To our surprise there was only 1 more set of people besides us when we arrived. Nonetheless, the service and the food were AMAZING. We got the 3 course menu as pictured. Overall it is definitely a romantic outing that leaves you thinking just how nice everything was. Oh and the decoration! It made me feel like I was eating somewhere other than Philly. I do have a question, what is the name of the complementary bread? We were both thoroughly enjoying it!

The food was very good at Johnnie’s ( the best salad I’ve had in a very long time) and the atmosphere was giving romantic date night. The background music is old school and fits the decor. My waiter was very nice but not that knowledgeable about wine selections but he did what he could. I enjoyed myself

I ordered pick up. I was looking for linguine and clam sauce and I got something that was disgusting. ( I was told they didn’t have that but something similar). I dont think the mussels were washed before being added. I’ll never get food from there again.

Came with my family tonight and the crab stuffed flounder was divine. The farfalle is also phenomenal. Old school Italian food that is rare to find.

We walked in 5:45pm, there was only one other couple in the restaurant… i read soo many great reviews, i refused to believe the restaurant wasnt going to be good. So we gave it a try anyway in spite of it being dead on a Saturday night. We were seated but not offered drinks during our visit. We ordered a chicken parm with vodka sauce, fettuccine Alfredo, and the wife( afraid of trying new places) got a house salad. Food took a while so im assuming it was fresh. Our salads came out and my wifes side salad was literally the same as the side salad I received( literally lettuce, shredded carrots, and cucumber) the only exception was my cup of dressing had a hair in it. Our dinner came out and my chicken was huge and on a separate plate then my pasta but thats the only good thing i can say about it, it was edible but not what you would expect for an “Italian restaurant” . The fettuccine Alfredo was also a decent size but they gave us penne pasta instead of fettuccini and the sauce was very salty and not very tasty… our waitress was nice but never asked how the food was and the wait for our (waters) to be filled or the check or boxes was crazyy long especially because there was no one else in the restaurant.. save your money, save your time, dont go here…

Since i only received a thumbs up from the owner about my one star review, no apologies, no thank you for your feedback, no we will take what you said into consideration…. No wonder your business is empty and possibly failing.. you have to be able to take criticism, it makes you stronger. Dont like my review? Fix it! Do better! Watch kitchen nightmares, maybe you should be in it, maybe you will learn something.. best of luck!

Old school Italian. We love it here. Byob and good value for your money. $20 gets you bruschetta, salad or soup, bread with roasted red peppers, side of pasta, main dish and ice cream.

Food last night was nasty. Soup had absolutely no taste, the chicken was dry and grissally. For what we spent it was SOOOOOO not worth my money or time. Not going back for a long time

Takeout experience. Picked due to reviews and picked up as no delivery. Food is excellent. Spouse said service was great for pick up. He felt the place was dated in decor but also might get more business in a different neighborhood. Seems like a family owned spot that may have been there before neighborhood started to change. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy but would definitely support again. Too bad there isn’t an online presence or on a food delivery platform.
