We had a great lunch at John Colter Ranch House! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was charming. We started with the Moran View Chopped Salad, which was huge and packed with fresh vegetables. For our main courses, we had the Moran Bison Burger, which was cooked perfectly and juicy, and the Western Side Chili, which was hearty and flavorful. We finished our meal with the peach pie with ice cream, which was the perfect way to end our meal. The service was excellent, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our lunch here and would definitely recommend it to others!

I’m surprised at the low ratings. This place was really good! Good, diverse menu. Good prices on kids meal. Chili was amazing! Fruit and carrots were a nice way to eat reasonably clean after eating junk food. Would definitely recommend!

Sit down place with good service and decent food. Wife ordered rainbow trout which was possibly the best option. Had good flavors and fish tasted great. The rice that came with fish was amazing. Chicken nuggets and fries where meh but good enough for kid to feel happy about. Chicken with pesto penne was little disappointing. Chicken was good but rest lacked flavors. Place was very busy but we didn’t need reservations. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Nestled near a serene lake, John Colter’s Ranch House is a decent spot for dinner. After seeing their low ratings, we initially didn’t have high expectations, but the overall experience wasn’t too bad.

By far best chili ever. All the food was great but this chili stood out. Super nice staff and nice atmosphere. Love it. Would highly recommend to anyone coming. Easy 5 Stars.

We have eaten here a few times now. We have done lunch, dinner and bar menu service in between full service hours. The bar tenders were the most friendly. The location is convenient and easy when staying in the cabins or tent village. The food is decent, but overpriced for what it is. That was expected though and a trade for being in the park. The cheese curds were really good. The pesto pasta was delicious. The grilled chicken sandwich on the lunch menu was very good.

Captured tourist restaurant high prices, small portions, mediocre food. Had the brisket for $30 for small pieces with some kind of thick gooey sweet sauce on it. I wanted the barbecue ribs, but they were out, those are the only two barbecue items at this barbecue place! Good selection of craft beers, and very friendly wait staff

Ummm…we waited 20 minutes to have anyone take our order; then our food came after we had been waiting an hour. My short stack pancake meal was served on a dirty plate, no butter no syrup. Had to ask for that. I ordered a side of bacon. That breakfast “Meal” cost $20…

Great location in Colter Bay. The restaurant is nice and service is great. The food is large portions and is pretty good. I tried the chili and it had a rich tomato flavor. There is a nice kids meal with also large portions. We definitely over ordered. The prices are high but that was expected for a restaurant in a national park.

I’m not sure how this restaurant got 4 stars. Our experience was very different. Our server did her best to make it a better experience. The food was late. We were told they ran out of the red bell pepper sauce that was on the trout and they were making fresh. When we were finally served our food, there was a microscopic amount of this red bell pepper sauce. My husbands chicken was so dry and clearly overcooked. The whole restaurant seemed to be in disarray. In their defense, all the employees were new and it was at the beginning of the season. However, we would not ever return to this restaurant. The manager did come to our table to say he would take something off our tab but that never happened. Clearly the employees are stressed and very unhappy with their jobs. It came through in the service and the food.
