The oysters were exceptionally fresh and beautifully presented. The Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful, and the filet mignon was prepared exactly as ordered — truly outstanding.
A thoughtful touch we appreciated was the coat check service, which made the arrival experience smooth and comfortable before being seated.
Overall, a great dining experience and well worth the visit.
Joe’s absolutely delivers on quality, atmosphere, and experience. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend.
The first thing that struck me was the enthusiasm and genuine kindness of the host. Secondly I started to soak up the atmosphere of warmth and elegance they have expertly cultivated.
Jojo was the wonderful lady that took care of us for the evening. If you book a reservation, ask for her. She was the epitome of a consummate professional. Lively, knowledge and one of the best people to take care of me in a long time. Fun fact, she seems to have an penchant for parking lot kidnappings, or at least stories of them, so don’t be afraid to ask her about that.
I don’t know how the hell they got us our cocktails so quickly, but no sooner had we order, they seemed to be in front of us.
After kicking back some drinks, we dove into the fare. The name of the place is basically the menu. We ordered a large seafood tower, called the Whale and double order of stone crab. Damn, it was yummy.
I love when places have frozen mignonette. The icy crystals of concentrated flavor compliment oysters perfectly. They have a tangy, creamy dipping sauce that may have a touch of mustard in it, that’s good too.
Whenever a place has bone in filet I cannot help ordering it. So much flavor! We backed up the filet with a dry aged, bone in ribeye as well. The sides were amazing. The lobster Mac & Cheese is so rich, the house grilled tomatoes were an unusual treat that I like too. But the real home run was the hashed brown potatoes. Them are good! We actually had a playful argument about who would get to take them home. I’m gonna throw these taters in a frying pan this morning and crack two eggs over top. Hashtag breakfast or champions.
They had a nice desert selection, we got some cake which was good, but I prefer a simple glass of fernet.
Oh, the somm was a huge help. The jovial fellow helped us pick some great bottles.
A warm thank you to the staff at Joe’s. We had a great evening. See you soon.
The oysters, petite fillet and the dover sole were the standout items from our visit.
We started with a salad that was huge and shareable for 2. It was well dressed with vinaigrette.
The seafood platter was a great deal and well prepared. Can’t really go wrong with shrimp cocktail, lobster tail and scallops at this caliber of restaurant.
The sea bass was a bit disappointing, not as melt in your mouth as we had hoped. But the flavor and the bok choy bed was good.
The secret stars were the mushrooms. They were full of flavor and complimented our mains well.
The key lime pie had a great composition and portion but I thought it lacked lime.
I finished my meal with a lovely espresso
Items I forgot about until looking at my pics, green beans, nothing stellar, I would choose the spinach next time.
The potatoes, yummy but just a potato with cheese and a sauce. Not necessary with such good seafood and steak.
The nantucket scallops, filet and lobster tail, shrimp dejhonge, lobster bisque, fingerling potatoes with both caesar and chopped salad. I do not think you can really go wrong with anything on the menu, had good company with entertaining neighboring tables. Got a key lime pie to go in addition to a slice of key lime and the havana dream pie that left me speechless. Can not wait to return for more of it.
