Don’t know what was the big guy attitude problem was about but for $123 dollars and change for what we received was not up to par. I asked for barbecue sauce and I keep getting bread. 2 orders of fried shrimp, half a pound sausage, half of pound of chopped beef, large potato salad supposed to be pound of ribs which is only 5 ribs. So called peach cobbler. Don’t know if guy was having a bad day but do better to satisfy your customers.

Came in on Christmas Day and the food was very flavorful the Captain’s ‍✈️ secret seasoning was very good, now others may prefer cool temp boil but I love mine nice and HOT. lol and it was brought out close to cold. Which was a bummer but Other than that, it was good. Make sure you ask for the food to come out temp hot if you’re like me ‍♀️
Thank you for staying open for the holidays

Visited the Texas State Fair and although there’s lots of food and beverages to be had there, we wanted to find a quick bite to eat that wasn’t crowded or astronomically expensive and this place came up in our search. We arrived and immediately thought it might be closed down because the area and parking lot were so desolate. We debated initially if we should even bother to go in…obviously we did and don’t regret our decision one bit!
Full transparency…this review is based on the hospitality, customer service and food quality. The decor and utensils are definitely out of the 80s so if you’re looking for modern and upscale, this place ain’t for you.
We were greeted like family members the minute we opened the door by Mick and I couldn’t get enough of her calling me baby with her Louisiana drawl! We were looking at the menu and she made great suggestions, even gave us samples of the gumbo (which was made in house by “Joe” and it was very good. We didn’t order it though – I opted for a seafood combo with fried oysters (yuck), fried shrimp, a catfish filet, hush puppies, coleslaw and fried okra (they had other choices for sides like fries or baked potatoes too). The tartar sauce was made in house and I think the coleslaw was too. Bottom line is that nothing was fried from frozen, it was all made in house down to the hand cut fries.
Catfish was crispy, shrimp was fresh and not rubbery; the oysters were kinda chewy as per my husband, he didn’t care for them. We had iced tea that was also freshly made and brought to our table by Mick who made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our meal.
There wasn’t a lot of in house diners, but they had several door dash orders which I’m guessing is what keeps the establishment afloat. I hope they are planning to renovate in the near future, I bet this place would be packed out of it were more appealing to the eye. If ever in that part of Texas again I’d surely visit and would recommend to anyone interested in a delicious hot meal.

This is one of those good feels Food Network type establishments. From the decor on the wall to the fella in the Dallas Cowboys straw cowboy hat, this place offers all authentic feels. I recommend the whole catfish every time. It’s clean hot and delicious.

The food was fresh. I ordered the combo fillet with shrimp, very filling. The hush puppies are good, not dry like a lot of places. There is plenty of seating but it looks like people order to go. Defo recommend for anyone who wants good seafood close to downtown Dallas that isn’t Hook Line & Sinker. Also, the food is not pricey, so I’m happy. Thank you to the kind lady who took our order, she was very accommodating. Had the whole place to ourselves. Will come back.

This place had amazing gumbo! Loaded with okra, shrimp, crayfish, crab. The price was great. We also had the catfish plate, the fish was a good size, fresh cut fries and great hushpuppies.
We will be back!
