Joe’s is some of best barbecue in NC and their sweet tea can’t be beat. Was definitely sad to learn on my latest trip that they discontinued the buffet, but I totally understand why they had to do it!

I have been eating at Joe’s since I was 3 years old. So since the 80’s, yes I’m old. I used to eat at the one in shallotte NC but that one closed down, so every chance I get I come to the one in whiteville NC. BEST BBQ IN A 30 MILE RADIUS. Staff is quick and friendly, plenty of seating, quiet atmosphere, great specials and prices. Don’t take my word for it, go try it for yourself.

I live in Germany now but as a kid, we’d go visit my grandparents in whiteville and every single time I’d ask my parents if we could go to Joe’s for pulled pork sandwiches, hush puppies, and sweet tea! Still thinking about it til this day and when I go back home to Atlanta to visit I’m stopping in at Joe’s! Love their Carolina bbq sauce too!

Mediocre at best. I’ve lived in Wilson (Parkers BBQ) and Lexington (Lexington BBQ or Speedys). There’s no comparison. Even Smithfields BBQ is better…their brunswick stew also. Gave two stars for the service. The ladies worked hard.

Their meatloaf is good but this time I thought I would try their ribs. They were the absolute worse with the most pitiful presentation! I can’t tell what cut they used because I have never seen ribs with a wide short bone. No smoked taste, suspect par-boiled and only tasted one kind of seasoning salt flavor. No sauce was offered either. They were meaty but just too strange and unappetizing for me. I trashed after 2 bones. Total waste of money.

Best ribs in eastern NC. Fried chicken like a Southern grandma would make. Enough sides to waddle away happy and full. All for a great price.

Be sure to order a dessert to go.

Honestly I enjoyed everything here bit the potato salad. That was just not it i suggest using red potatoes light on the mustard. Everything else wass perfect. Ribs perfect, chicken fingers, fried chicken, hush puppies, fried okra, Fish nuggets all perfect. I highly suggest fish nuggets. And my 4 year old enjoyed his chicken it was totally delicious

Very good southern style cooking buffet. The servers were friendly and generous with tea refills. There was ample choices on the buffet, but limited to pork chops, fried chicken, and 2 types of sausage. I would have liked to order some bbq extra, but no more room..too full! Thanks for a good meal while passing through.
