A delicious blast from the past.
My most recent visit to Joe’s Crab Shack was as good as it gets for seafood. Unfortunately, many of the locations have closed down in recent years and so I was fortunate to be in the area for the Fairfax location.
The location was spacious, clean and appropriate decorated with nautically themed pictures and even an interesting giant overhead Jaws-like shark.
As for the service, the waitress was attentive and responsive. My table ordered the Arctic Bay Steam Pot and the Cedar Roasted Salmon. The food took roughly 20 minutes to be prepared. But was worth the wait. The food was fresh and well prepared.
The location is a bit off the beaten path but if you can find it, you won’t regret it.

Amazing food and excellent service. The decor is fun and it’s a great place to take friends or family visiting from out to town. Prices range from 15-30+ per entree

We love to eat at this place or to take it home. The steam pots are the best. You can’t go wrong here with most of the food made on site. for example they make their own mozzarella sticks, yummmmm. Dont forget to order the strawberry lemonade. We like to sit on the deck.

We had our 25th High school reunion after party there, and they were able to handle our table of 9 late at night without any issues. It was my first time going, despite living near it for over a decade. Not as good as home cooked, but certainly worth making the trip. We were all happy with our meals and drinks.

What can I say. Great food yet just ok service. Waitress was upset because a non alcoholic frozen drink that I ordered tasted like water. She appeared as though it was going to hurt her to make it over.

Kids play place!! That is what drew us and I’m so glad we found them at the Fairfax FallFest. GREAT kids menu with healthy options, nice happy hour and our grown-up food was very well-prepared! We got margaritas, Joes sampler appetizer, shrimp sampler entree and king crab legs. Bartender took care of us since we dined early and he did a great job even though we were far from the bar next to play area. We will definitely be returning.

Love this place! We’ve been coming here for years. The food is great, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is fun. Can’t speak for the entire menu, we always order the crab buckets and steam pots. If you like salty flavors you have to try the BBQ crab legs, if not, then the Old Bay is the way to go! And for dessert, the Sea Turtle Sundae is the perfect ending to a perfect meal.

Our meals were hot,fresh and delicious! I got the joes classic steam pot and my husband got 24 shrimp. Both were very good. We got the Smores dessert and it was delectable! Yum! Thanks joes!

What can say other than Joe’s was purely an awesome experience here in Fairfax. We arrived around 5pm, surprisingly not busy on a Friday afternoon but hey the atmosphere was still pleasant. Great staff and great food made the experience all the more worth it. Can’t wait to good back in do it again.
