Food was great as well as our server. Will definitely be coming back here again.
My favorite is the fried cod dinner on the weekends. Those hush puppies are amazing! I also love the potstickers.
I have found the staff to be very kind and even on the one visit I went that they were short-handed and therefore slower service, the staff was still amazing. Especially love the lady that ends her service to her tables with a ‘bad joke’!
Joe & Freddy’s has a variety of seating (high top tables, regular tables, booths, and bar stools). Personally, I prefer the booths or regular tables. I’ve found fellow diners to be kind and friendly, offering to share their table when the place was completely full.
We also found Fish Camp down the road (same owner). Love it too! Took my mom there for her birthday and the owner came out to meet us because I was wearing my Joe & Freddy’s tshirt. If you’re looking for seafood, like bouillabaisse, amazing clam chowder, or crab claws, check out Fish Camp. Some dishes are similar at the two establishments but each is still different.
Thanks for cooking! We love your restaurants!!!
We visited during the week and the kitchen closed at 9 pm thankfully we got there with 10 min to order but to me this is very early for a bar and grill.
Price was as expected. Atmosphere had good vibes. Wasn’t busy and we had our order in with food served all within 30 minutes.
Overall great and would definitely recommend: pizza is tavern style we had the BBQ chicken. It was amazing.
Appetizer we had the homemade bread sticks with cheese and the marinara sauce . Excellent
Their tavern style pizza is no joke and so are the shrimp tacos, oysters Rockefeller, and Italian beef sandwich. They also do live music on Fridays! We go every time we’re in Beverly Shores.
The appetizer, sloppy fries, promised more than it delivered. The sweet potato fries themselves were cooked well, but the topping was a letdown – just some basic sloppy joe meat with shredded cheese. No rich cheese sauce, no garnish, nothing to justify the price tag or elevate the dish beyond the ordinary.
My main dish, the Mexican-style brisket skillet with chorizo gravy, featured a well-made brisket, but overall, it lacked the kick of Mexican spices I was looking forward to. It felt like the kitchen had held back on the flavors that should have been front and center.
One of my friends had wings that also fell flat – they didn’t have enough sauce, resulting in a flavor that was forgettable.
We left Joe and Freddy’s feeling like the experience and the food were just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out, especially considering the price point of the dishes. It’s not a spot I’d rush back to, but for a no-fuss, fill-your-belly kind of meal, it does the job.
