Was a little warying about stopping in a gas station for breakfast. I was pretty surprised to find myself in a tidy and clean dining area, easy to interpret menu, and helpful staff. I ended up getting the Burnt Cheese omelette with sausage (despite the name, it was gold brown and delicious), with a side of pancakes and the Berry White iced coffee. Easily a “dad fills the car up with gas, mom takes the kids in to get breakfast before a road trip” kind of place. Very impressed!

I’ll be the first to say I was slightly apprehensive when I saw Joe Donut was located in a gas station… However I couldn’t have been more wrong. The Carmel Apple Donut was absolutely fantastic and the Chicken Biscuit with breakfast potatoes were a home run. The service here was amazing as well. The staff was friendly and attentive and created a very welcoming environment. I will definitely be back!

Omg!!! This was amazing. From the lady that took our order being so patient and friendly to the Amazing food. I had the Carmalized Banana Pancakes and hubby had the omelette that came with these amazing hash brown potatoes. This location is in the gas station and at first I was like where is he bringing me but let me tell you the food was awesome OK

The donuts are great, very unique.
They now have “Joe Taco” where they serve basic Mexican food. The steak burrito was very good. A little steep in price when comparing the cost for the size with other Mexican restaurants in the area, but it’s a great burrito. Will definitely order it again.

Best breakfast and lunch I have had in a long time. Everything Is super fresh and tasty. Love the owner she’s is the sweetest gave me to try with my purchase the homemade tater tots and I’m hooked. If you live by it or not it’s a MUST TRY… won’t disappoint you.

Hidden Gem Breakfast Spot in Itasca – Joe’s Donuts

While traveling for business and staying in Itasca, I did a quick Google search for a solid breakfast spot. A few options popped up, but one name stood out—Joe’s Donuts. What caught me off guard was its location: tucked inside a gas station. I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first. But once inside, the atmosphere was surprisingly warm and welcoming.

I ordered the Cowboy Breakfast: two eggs over medium, breakfast potatoes, and pancakes (you can choose between pancakes or a biscuit). All of that for under $10—an absolute steal. You can also add sides like bacon or sausage for under $4.50, if I remember correctly. I also ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice.

The standout? The breakfast potatoes. Hands down, the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had—and I’ve had my fair share across the country. I even went back to compliment the chef and learned they’re made from scratch. You can taste the care and craft in every bite. Phenomenal.

Don’t skip the donuts. I tried the red velvet donut with cream cheese frosting, and it was next-level delicious. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

The place has seating, so it’s great for families or anyone looking to dine in. The staff and chef were incredibly friendly and gracious, which made the experience even better.

Highly recommend. Joe’s Donuts is a hidden treasure worth discovering. Don’t let the gas station setting fool you—this place delivers big on flavor and hospitality.

On here to report my recent trip to Joe Donut in Itasca (Rowling Rd. inside the Ricky Rocket’s gas station). Thank you to whomever pointed this out to us, I cannot believe we did not know about Joe before! We haven’t gotten to try the donuts yet but the breakfast we had was amazing! I got the Joe Pothole biscuits (with homemade tater tots if you can believe it) and my husband got the Chicken & Waffles… those are my favorite Chicken ‘n Waffles I have had! SO good! Pretty much everything there is ‘HOMEMADE’/made in-house! The staff is super nice, too! 10/10 recommend. Go, go, go!

We got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was very very good. The waffles were too. This is a great place to check out. They have a nice donut selection but you’ll want to get there early for that before they run out.

WOW! The food was so so good! We got the Gringo Spicy & Southern Lovin, both were so delicious! Definitely get the potatoes and sauce they were dynamite. I even reheated the next day and they were still good! Will definitely be coming back. It is inside the gas station so not much atmosphere but thats ok the food makes up for it!
