Plus Indian milk tea… it was perrrffffeeect!
Chicken coconut curry with Ghee rice was out of this realm! This place rocks and best value for money too!
Thank you for having us.
A late night dinner at this place with a friend yearning for Kerala Porotta… our order was Porotta, Beef Roast, Chicken Friedrice and chilli chicken…
As a whole, all items were tasty and not bad. Beef roast was the best. But then, be aware that their chilly chicken will not be the chinese style if u expected that… They serve South indian style chilli chicken, and the same opinion goes for the fried rice, too… no complaints on taste, though… One thing that wasn’t so eye-pleasing was to see the big pieces of chicken in the fried rice that didn’t give a cooked look – a total no-no for me… I removed them off before eating….
Now for the negative… their price… Sydney now being a place filled with international students who have limited financial resources… If they wish to try keralite cuisine regularly, then this place is a total NO… 6 porotta, with a portion of beef roast, chilli chicken and friedrice… our bill crossed 60$… for the portion they serve, we felt that was really expensive.
I do understand the nuances of maintaining a business, but being considerate to the student community who is the majority in this small city now… they could look into their prices or increase their portion size… All the best…
I’ve ordered Alfam Mandi from here a couple of times before, and it was good, That’s exactly why I came back again. But this time, I was really disappointed.
The chicken I received was badly burnt, the rice was okay, but without a properly cooked chicken, it just didn’t come together.
Consistency is key – please don’t let the quality drop.
So I visited this place after 3 years and things have changed. The appam is now the traditional one. The Pazhampori and beef were tasty. Pazhampori looked like not fresh but maybe that’s just me. Egg Curry quantity was too less to be charged for $10 and only one egg. Service was good this time. So I am raising one star.

Ghee Rice and Chicken curry were tasty. Ample quantity too. However Appam and Stew were totally disappointing. Appam was like dosa and not the one you get in Kerala. Stew was over creamy and probably coconut milk used was not traditional. Service was poor too. I had to request drinking water to get one. Also table was not attended for long time. I am not reducing too many stars as I was a traveller and may be it was just a bad day for them
