The staff was super friendly and very attentive. They kept serving people when they were walking in 15 minutes after closing. They did end up turning people away when they turned off the grill. This place reminded me of the diner I would go with my Grandma.
The food was really tasty. The portions were generous and the milkshake was so good! I had the strawberry milkshake & it’s the best one I’ve had in a long time. Honestly better than Hayward’s milkshakes & their thing is icecream. I recommend getting a milkshake. It’s a huge milkshake. We shared one.
Overall I recommend this place if you’re thinking of an old school diner with good food. I give it 5 stars because it deserves a 5 for a diner. It’s not pretending to be anything other than what it is & they do it well. We’ll definitely be back again.
Food was excellent, served quickly by a friendly staff. Nothing exotic, just good home cooking style. We did breakfast, although the lunch menu looked good, too.
Great retro feel, good food, reasonable prices, friendly and attentive staff.
Well let me this you this is diamond in the rough!!! I got messy muffin but substituted the English muffin for biscuit. It was AMAZING!! The biscuit was so moist, not falling apart moist. I also got a blueberry pancake oh the side which was also delicious!!! (I opted for real maple syrup!
My Boyfriend got a steak omelet which he loved as well. A
I heard other locals talking about how beautiful it is, compared to before they changed it. Also the server informed them the booths would be changed out soon too.

10:10a— I’d give it at 9
I came in for breakfast on a weekday morning, and the place was already buzzing with regulars. The vibe is cozy, no-frills, and comfortable—like stepping into your grandmother’s kitchen. The service was fast and friendly, and the waitress made me feel like part of the family.
I ordered the breakfast special with eggs, bacon, home fries, and pancakes. Everything was cooked perfectly—eggs just the way I asked, crispy bacon, and golden home fries with just the right seasoning. But the real surprise was the pancakes: light, fluffy, and delicious. Easily some of the best I’ve had in the area.
The coffee kept coming, hot and fresh, and it really completed the experience. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality.
Joanne’s Kitchen may not be flashy, but it doesn’t need to be. It delivers exactly what you want from a local diner—good food, great service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back soon.
Items ordered: ham and swiss cheese omelette, home fries with peppers and onions, sourdough toast, sausage links, Irish Benny, bacon
Pros:
•The eggs were cooked perfectly
•The home fries were crispy and flavorful, especially with the peppers and onions
•The Hollandaise sauce was surprisingly good, very creamy and lemony
•The English muffin and sourdough toast were perfectly done as well
•The service was quick and our waiter was atentative and friendly
•The prices were good for the quality of food we got
Cons:
•The atmosphere isn’t great, the place looks kind of grungy and can definitely use updated furniture as well as a paint job and redesign to the outside.
Conclusion: For the price and quality of food, Joanne’s is actually pretty darn good for the area. If atmosphere is a big thing for you, then you might want to look elsewhere because it can be a bit of a turn off.
