After many years frequenting this restaurant, the food has always been consistent, and very good. However, service has severely declined. We experienced the most arrogant and disinterested server during our last visit. Our server was rude, and downright nasty.
She never came back to our table to check in on us, or offer coffee, dessert etc… After delivering our entrée, which she literally tossed onto our table… replaced an item with an alternative and never asked what we would like in place of the unavailable item. We spoke with the manager, who we understand is part owner, and he was completely disinterested in ensuring his clientele was happy or satisfied. After all these years, we will never be back!

What a great experience! Definitely make a reservation. My husband and I thought the staff were all friendly, attentive and competent- his water glass was never allowed to be empty, we were checked on repeatedly by our lovely waitress, Theresa (such a nice woman! She made us feel very welcome)and other staff. The food- words fail me. I had the agnolotti con spinach’s & ricotta- it was so delicious, I took that first bite and closed my eyes in rapture. My husband had the Pollo Con Carciofi- it was supremely delicious, filling and, of special note, the accompanying vegetables (broccoli, potato, carrot and squash) were cooked to perfection. For dessert we shared Tiramisu. It was heavenly, light and creamy and DELICIOUS. We couldn’t ask for a better date night meal. Also, very reasonable.

Absolutely loved my dinner at Joanina’s! The fresh pasta was incredible—I had the Tortellini Rosa and the sauce was rich, creamy, and so flavorful. Cozy atmosphere, great service, and everything tasted homemade. Can’t wait to go back!

I went here for a family member’s birthday. Overall an OK experience. Rating my food 4/5 because the Tagliolini alla Boscaiola was incredibly oily and way too salty. The description on the menu suggested this would be a fresh and light dish with the wording “a touch of cream”. It was SO heavy that I had a stomach ache when I arrived home. Other dishes at my table did not have this problem. We were also served bread that was not fresh. It wasn’t stale, but it was definitely sitting out for some time. The olive oil served with the bread was also just OK. If they are trying to recreate an Italian dining experience, they may want to reevaluate their offerings and quality. Service was OK; my waiter was not very patient and we all felt rushed. Decor is quite nice and overall a nice ambience. Very good wine – I ordered Cabernet Sauvignon. I likely won’t be back as there are tons of options in the area without the problems I mentioned. Sorry, but an Italian restaurant on Long Island needs to be near perfect and this was not.

The food was okay, but the experience was underwhelming. We got water quickly, but it took a long time for anyone to take our order, and the service stayed slow and inattentive throughout. The Chicken Scarpariello had nice flavor but was a bit dry. Overall, not terrible, but not somewhere I’d rush back to

Finally got a chance to try this cute spot in the heart of Huntington village! The food was AMAZING and the service was PHENOMENAL. Our main server was Donato, one of the managers, he guided us through the menu and was so friendly. He even brought out a dessert for us at the end which was to die for! They went above and beyond to plate our selections separately since we were sharing a few different things. Our water glasses were always full and the espresso martini was 10/10! The prices are very reasonable especially for the portions (we had plenty to take home) and quality of the food. We will definitely be making this a regular restaurant in our rotation!! If you haven’t been, you MUST go!

Not the same Joanina we used to go to a few years back. We decided to give it another try and were very disappointed. The pizza was soggy even though I specifically asked for it to be crispy. The salads did not taste fresh, the Branzino was fishy and oily, and the pasta was overcooked. Unfortunately, the overall quality has gone down significantly.

The dishes we got were absolutely terrible, not tasty and inedible. We mentioned it to the server who walked away from us without any care and another server could have at least helped salvage our night but dropped the check. They also took way too long to come to the table after sitting down and when we were doing a very obvious toast the busser came to refill our already filled water glasses.

The linguine with clams had so many clams but most were empty. I still had to dig through them to check. They werent even in the water down sauce. Literally all liquid. See picture.

Also the wine glass was dirty and could have been polished. Not a fan of seeing water spots all over a wine glass. Shows they weren’t cleaned properly.

It’s too bad because it’s a beautiful place but I do not recommend it at all. We left after 45 minutes and this was a very important dinner for us.

It was Friday eve 8:30pm. The main dining room was not busy, nor was bar completely full, several empty tables all remained available. The wait staff timing was more concerned with filling water glasses that repeatedly I refused water more than once, than they were about serving our food hot. I ordered broccoli rabe/garlic and oil over penne that was served too soft and over cooked. My dinner was tasteless, had no taste. My wife ordered vegetable soup it was too salty, her entree was chicken/red sauce/spaghetti. Her dinner was served luke warm, not hot or steaming as you might expect, the red sauce was both overly sweet and wat too salty to taste, making her dish an unacceptable eating experience. This dinner was flat out a lousy experience I choose to forget. Nothing served us was exceptional nor stoodout as being really great tasting.. YAWN. At the prices Joanina charges, there are lots more better local restaurants to choose from that are worthy of my attention and money.I will think twice before choosing to return here again – eat elsewhere

What a great restaurant in the heart of Huntington. We had such a nice time. The food was fantastic especially the charcuterie , pizza and seafood specials on this evening. The staff, amazing. Highly recommend.
