Before our walk on the Elora Cataract Trail my wife and I stopped in here for brunch . My wife had the peameal sandwich while I chose the breakfast poutine. Both were delicious and quite filling . The coffee was hot , tasty and plentiful. The server ( owner ) was very friendly and our meals were delivered to the table quickly . This place was previously known as Belwood super snax but has new owners and a new name . I highly recommend!

Stopped by for a quiet dinner last night and loved the cozy feel of the place. Our server was great and the food was delicious. My mac & cheese with bacon was so good.

Absolutely LOVE Joanie’s! Not only is the food incredible, but the staff are so nice, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Their wings are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the milkshakes are top tier, too. Burgers? Don’t even get me started! SO GOOD. The kids menu comes with ice cream AND a surprise from the treasure chest, which my kids are obsessed with. It’s such a joy to dine here!

Outstanding lunch! Amazing service, comfy location with indoor and outdoor seating, and delicious food. I had the banquet burger and fries it was perfectly prepared. Great spot if you are riding on the Elora Cataract trail way.

We went to Joanie’s for breakfast and it was lovely. Firstly, Belwood is so quiet and peaceful and this extended into the restaurant. Great vibe in the refreshed eating area. We were greeted by our server, Tobie, who made us feel right at home. Excellent service with a nice smile throughout our entire breakfast! The food was better than expected with perfect portions and a wonderful presentation. The coffee had a superb flavour and when we asked the server, she thought it might have been from their UV purified water! I believe she was correct! First time here and we will go back so for everyone else, GO HERE!

Our family has fond memories of the iconic SuperSnax. Our visit this week have similar, but refreshed vibes. I think long gone are the days of super cheap kids meals, and this follows that trend, the dishes are quite a bit more; BUT then we saw the fish and chips my kid ordered and it was essentially a full sized meal, with a drink and dessert, so well worth the price in my mind.
The burger was not messing around, it was huge, and the power bowl was a nice addition to the menu if you didn’t feel like something heavy.

The staff were AMAZING! Friendly and attentive.
And by the time we left about 5:30 the place was already filling up. A nice sign, and a nice feeling to have the atmosphere of a full restaurant so early into dinner time.

We will be back and I hope many venture into this gem getting a revival.

Fish and chips didn’t look anything like previous photos, very greasy and the oil definitely needed to be changed. Maybe just an off night though, will try it again someday.

I’ve been coming to Jonie’s Restaurant in Bellwood for a while, and unfortunately, things have noticeably changed since the new management took over.

The feature burger this month was a real disappointment. What used to feel creative, well-balanced, and thoughtfully executed now feels rushed and lacking the quality this place was known for. The flavours didn’t stand out, and the overall presentation just wasn’t there.

It’s hard not to notice the shift in direction. The atmosphere, food quality, and overall consistency seem to have taken a step backward. There used to be a clear vision in the kitchen, and now it feels uncertain and inconsistent.

I truly hope the new management finds its footing and brings back the standards that made Jonie’s a spot people were excited to visit. Bellwood deserves a strong local restaurant, and this place has the potential — but right now, it’s missing the mark.

As a frequent patron I must say the new management is a welcome change to this gem of a restaurant! Although in the past few weeks there has been a few minor growing pains (as expected) from correcting previous over-inflated and misdirected egos, I now once again look forward to Joanies providing much sought after small town genuine comfort food coupled with amazing service.
I’m a small business owner who likes to support such wonderful local businesses; what a great step forward!

I’ve been coming to Belwood for many yrs now mostly for the butter tarts at the market. Today I noticed the restaurant across the street has been renovated and new owner. So was hungry and decided to try it. Let me tell you small local small town feel and atmosphere.. Very welcoming staff.. Made you feel at home.. Amazing fresh and tasty food and drinks.. Fresh cut fries another bonus I love. Plus they have great soft serve ice cream as well.. Most definitely will come back and now more reason to visit Belwood for a drive.. Would recommend this little gem of a restaurant to anyone.
