I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of sushi rolls. As a salmon lover, I appreciated the variety on the menu—it made us curious to try more. Our waiter was attentive and helpful, suggesting options that piqued our interest. We ordered just enough for two, though we definitely wanted more!
The Lemon Salmon and Salmon Lover rolls were excellent, leaving us eager to explore other choices next time. While salmon nigiri is on the pricier side (around $8, which seems standard in the U.S.), the freshness and silky tender texture with a clean finish made it worth every bite.
Dessert was a delightful finishing touch, rounding out an already wonderful meal. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and we’re looking forward to returning soon.
I felt rushed throughout the process. From the beginning we sat down we were asked to order immediately when another server knew it was my first time in the establishment, I communicated and asked for more time, just ordered appetizers and mains later. Which they were kind to do.
At the end of meal I felt rushed, they even brought us our check while I stopped eating for a moment (slow eater ) with take out boxes and asked us to pay. I looked at my watch and noticed it was exactly 1 hour since I entered the restaurant. I wish they communicated with us before sitting down that they wanted us out after an hour so I could be more mindful, ate faster, or chose another establishment that was more flexible with the turnover rate of tables. I understand that the night was starting to get busy and you have guests to serve. I usually never write reviews like this but it was my first time ever feeling sad after eating out to the point it lingered on my mind.
I’ve dined in restaurants that even when there are no people around at that moment and they knew they were gonna be busy that night they let me know the time limit in advance.
Maybe a recommendation is to condense the menu so that diners can spend less time deciding what to eat. Visually highlight bestsellers so to guide clients to food that is cooked faster or prepped already. (I remember my server telling me I having to wait an extra 10-15 minutes for my food, which lead me to feeling rushed and sad my time was cut short.) Menu engineering to guide guests to choose faster and helps with your profits and turnover if you engineer well. Ordering was probably taking most of my time. I want restaurants like yours to succeed in Silverdale and I know my experience was probably a unique situation but having good systems in place will definitely enhance the customer experience.
Nothing bad about the sever. They were gracious and kind and ensured we were well taken care of.
This business seemed it appropriate to charge for a full roll, but only sell a half. Photo speaks for itself.
The ramen bowls taste alright. I just think that there isn’t enough noodles in it. My husband ordered the karaage and did not like it. The chicken meat was marinated and when it came out it was soaked in oil! It didn’t look good and it didn’t taste good either. The meat was hard to chew. My shrimp and vegetable tempura was good. I don’t know if I’d recommend this place to others. Maybe not. The only thing good about it is that its location is close to our home. We surely don’t mind driving a bit farther to get some really good meal.
EDIT: 12/31/2019
For NYE my hubby and I came back here for dinner. I ordered the same Shoyu Ramen and to my surprise, it tasted better than last time. I also ordered a spider roll classic sushi. My hubby had yakisoba and eel roll. The sushi is good.
To be honest, it’ll be our last. I use to like this spot, but ever since ownership change its been a different vibe. The identity is lost for sure. When you see a restaurant that says Japanese Restaurant, you expect mainly Japanese food. Now it’s Japanese, but mixed with Korean lol. The prices are high now. Explain: the bento use to be 20. Now it’s 30 and nothing is different about it. They now sell soju, have Korean music playing, and the menu is Japanese mixed with Korean.
My lady got karaage and a sushi roll. I got the Korean miso ramen. The karaage was pretty sad. It’s like they use a corn meal mix. The ramen was definitely instant ramen from the store. I mean I don’t mind instant ramen, but the presentation was a zero, and the fact it was $16 was annoying. I understand homemade ramen is not a huge thing is Korea, but if you’re going to sell something from another country at least give it the flair it deserves.
Overall, we don’t plan to come back. It’s sad that this restaurant is showing desperation and confusion.
